Will we win the league this season?

I still believe Arsenal and Liverpool will be too strong. Just looking at the bench of both teams it’s full of quality and options. We’re not out of it but we’re gonna have to be really lucky with injuries to sustain a title challenge.
Looks scary

What makes our bench worse than theirs? Stones, Nunes/Khusanov, Ake, Ait-Nouri, Gonzalez, Bernardo, Cherki, Marmoush, Kovacic, Bobb, Trafford...

Marmoush was better than Ekitike in the Bundesliga, Cherki looks every bit as talented as Wirtz, if not more, Gonzalez is quality, Stones and Ake are better options than Liverpool's...

Needless to say we can't yet rule Liverpool out. Far from it. But it's also obvious that the problems that some fans anticipated for them are being realised. I've been suggesting for a long time that VVD and Salah's age would catch up with them and they would regret extending their contracts and that looks true at the moment. I wonder how long they will persist with Salah?

City aren't playing as convincingly as we once did but there are obvious improvements on last season and when you consider all the players who we still have to come in and all the improvements which are possible in our squad, then you have to believe that it's possible that City can win the title this season. I think Arsenal are rightly favourites at the moment, but we should be in the frame.

There are loads of variables in City's squad, and an obvious one is Rodri's fitness. If we could add a fit Rodri to this side, we'd be favourites but there are also players like Marmoush, Khusanov and Cherki who could also go on to become major players for us this season.

Look at our bench yesterday and that was without Rodri. We brought on Bernardo and Bobb who ran the game, and Cherki who made a big chance for Haaland in the final moments.

Agree We are by no means out of it but do think it’s gonna take a Herculean effort, we can do it

Anyone who has any doubts as to the mentality of the Club, just take 90 mins out of your life and rewatch Together: 4-in-a-row. That mentality is starting to reveal itself again this season.

After the treble we moved on Mahrez, Gundo and Cole Palmer. In came Doku, Kovacic, Guardiol and Nunes. Its fair to say the majority of us were underwhelmed. We lost KDB early doors with a long term injury. We even lost Pep to back surgery. Kalvin Phillips was getting game time, as was Sergio Gomez. Who can forget that disastrous performance at Villa, then the 2-2 draw at home to Palace. Written off as title challengers as a complacent, tired and beaten team.

The rest is history.

Get Rodri fit and firing, the spine of the 4-in-a-row team is still intact. We've strengthened better this season and we have a keeper who will gain us points in clutch games. The squad seems hungry, Pep 2 is showing his influence and Foden is reborn. The only worry is we don't have an Alvarez to take the burden off Haaland. However, in Marmoush we might just have that player.

And Arsenal will shit the bed.

Very confident we'll make it 5 in 6.

Up the fucking Blues.

Rags will win it.

They could well turn out to be a 'surprise package' , if they continue to show the same spirit that they did today at Liverpool ...... they actually have one or two decent players, and a bit of strength in depth now.

But with around 30 league games still left to play, it's far too early to even try to predict who the eventual title winners will be, and I'm sure that City will fancy their own chances, but Pep is right to be concerned ... we need MORE players than Haaland scoring goals!

The rags will finish in the bottom half. They're crap.

LOL
Team captain for glass half empty bottlers.
I love our club and fanbase.
Such a cross section of winners, losers and depressives.
So glad, I’m in the half full team.
Bottlers? Fuck off. If you can’t take a little dose of fact then that’s your problem. I love our club and fan base too. We still have a long way to go with this team.

No. I don’t think they are. Have said for a while if they give Amorim time he will turn them. They played ok today albeit Pool were pretty poor.
Only saw the 2nd half and they were dogshit. I am reliably informed that they were better in the first half but that wouldn’t be difficult based on what I saw.

If we can find some more goals in the team which I presume will come from Foden and Marmoush coming back in the team then yes we can

We are a bit reliant on Haaland.

Next 4 games are harder so we will see after that.

Villa is no gimme now they have hit a bit of form and have a piss easy game in Europe that they could play all their second eleven on and still win.

Bournemouth - dangerous but we have a good record against them.

Dippers - Hopefully they are still in shit form and have some harder games coming up too. The fact they have Real Madrid at home in the week before is good for us.

Newcastle away- they are not in great form but never an easy away that one.

The big positive is that we are winning games without really playing that well. Mainly thanks to Haaland and his tremendous finishing ability.

Rags surprise package?
Do you mean finishing above tenth ?
Consistency is key to this year's champions followed by belief.
To early to call it's shaping up interesting.
