Who allowed this to happen ? the EFL and for the rules of FFP or PRS, what is the point of having rules if they are still allowing owners to do this shit to a big club? Can you tell me what they were brought into football for again

The greed of the so called elite clubs that give nothing back, who also are allowed to build big debts because they are sat on the board of the governing bodies that make the rules to suit them. I think thats why the 115 charges are taking so long to come out is because once City are cleared we will be demanding heads roll and want a major roll on the board of the PL

Agree with most of that, but Wimbledon didn't go under they were allowed to move to MK rather than go bust. Whether they would have gone bust is another matter, but previous owners were also trying to move them rather than stay in south London.

The powers that be were hammered for allowing the move which is why they set a maximum of 35 miles for future moves.
The fanbase was ignored by the EFL and Winkleman, but don't forget a previous owner also wanted to move away, even talking about Dublin about one point.
However the alternative was falling down the divisions or going bust and the EFL wanted to avoid that.
The other guilty party was the local council who at the time didn't seem to want the team in the area even though they were delighted when the Dons won the FA Cup.

I think the EFL and PL should issue licences to owners and revoke them in the case of non-payment of wages or other bills, however having to post a large deposit might deter genuine potential owners from investing.
I agree that the EFL should inspect club finances more regularly, however clubs are businesses and are audited in line with other businesses.

The long term aim of an EFL/PL licencing system should be to merge all assets of a club into a single entity. This would include players, stadium, training facilities etc. In the meantime all clubs should have guaranteed access to their stadium and training facilities for a minimum period based on the time needed to build a replacement. Selling the ground to another company and renting it back to release funds in the short term often leads to problems in the medium and long term.

Fair play to the players last night who gave it a go, Boro should have won more easily but despite everything going on the players are not throwing the towel in. Bottom line is the squad is just not good enough, the oldest player on the bench last night was 22 and the majority of them had not played football at this level.

Hats off to the fans too, if you decided to go that's your choice and the same if you decided to boycott. I stayed at home.
We need to dig in for the winter as the battle to rid of this owner and save the club is just beginning.

Also confirmed that young striker George Brown is out for 6 weeks, this added to the news that young centre back Ernie Weaver is out until April. Both have played really well for the first team but have been thrown in at the deepend and their bodies not up to the rigors of the championship.

Which is what FFP does to a degree, with sanctions if you don't meet contractual or other scheduled payments. As soon as a club like Wednesday don't make wage or supplier payments, the EFL should be all over them to understand the issues and take action if necessary.

In NFL, for example, if a team signs a player contract then the funds have to be placed in an escrow account. Perhaps something similar here might discourage reckless owners, or those seeking to benefit their own interests rather than the club, players, fans or community.
