Wouldn't be surprised if it's:

Donnarumma
Stones Dias Gvardiol
Nunes Reijnders Foden Bernardo
Bobb Haaland Savinho

A little open for me. Would have preferred O'Reilly and Kovacic in for Reijnders and Foden.

A draw is a good result here. We've been shite at Villa Park these last few years and we're missing key players again. Just got to keep the unbeaten run going while waiting for Rodri, Gonzalez, Marmoush, etc. to come back.

I think that's about spot on, Maybe Bernardo will move into the middle to take the ball from the centre backs

No matter the lineup the wings will always be a question mark to be fair with the options we have

I think we look a bit light in midfield. Hopefully we can get another good performance from Bernado and an early goal to settle things down

They’ll get twitchy if they go down early at home

I’d have preferred seeing O’Reilly, Cherki and Marmoush starting.

Bernardo will have to work his bollocks off in that midfield today.

Yep. If you can’t enjoy watching the team (and a lot seem unable to), why bother supporting us. You take the rough with the smooth.
I think it's more to do with the dominance we are used to seeing over the last 10 years I suppose.

That much success breeds big expectations from our supporters every game.

When we don't play the sublime football we are used to watching nowadays, fans will moan.

If Nico is fit for the bench he should be starting, and if not Nico then Kova or Stones shoukd be there.

Reijnders cant win the ball

That midfield 3 gets run over, especially with Savinho/Bobb as support both are tiny and offer little protection

Not confident at all

That Villa starting eleven contains 9 of those who started the corresponding fixture last season, whereas we go with only 5 of the same.

The criticism Bernardo gets just doesn't comport with the reality of what he delivers as a player.

We've lost 1 of the last 11 league games which he started - which was the Brighton game, and in that one they scored the winning goal when he wasn't on the pitch!

Pep likes him because when he plays him, we win games. We win those games because he does a job for the team positionally and knows where to be. There was a moment in the United game where he anticipated a huge hole in our defence, and if he hadn't we would have been going in at half-time 1-1.

Those are the things people don't notice but they are extremely important against a team like Villa, probably more important than whatever he does when he actually has the ball.

Free Cherki!

Pep still trusts the older guys ahead of anything - time will tell if his faith is once again in the right place. The future has to be Nico & Rayan surely.

If we, by some miracle, actually win today, a lot who have been on here will be conspicuous by their absence later on.

I'll be very pleasantly surprised. If we were 10/1 I wouldn't chance a quid seeing that team. Just can't wrap my head around it. Villa are aggressive, physical and play at pace and we've put out the smallest and weakest midfield possible.

I hope I'll be on here later saying how wrong I am and I know fuckall about football.

I guess it will be 3-2-5 in attack:

Donnarumma
Matheus N. - Rúben - Gvardiol
Stones - Bernardo
Bobb - Reijnders - Foden - Savinho
Haaland

Fly at 'em City!!! Get in front and leave 'em for dead.
Haaland hat-trick incoming asThe Don and the Champions Elect in front of him take a bow in Birmingham.
Come on City!!!
