Happy to be proven wrong but that midfield looks lightweight. O’Reilly has been outstanding so far, should have kept his place. This looks like a team from one year ago.

Just turned telly on why are they focusing on the Arse game ? It's ok I know the answer !!!!

Pep still trusts the older guys ahead of anything - time will tell if his faith is once again in the right place. The future has to be Nico & Rayan surely.
Who are these older guys you talk about?

He was overplayed last season when we were struggling, and seemed to be identified as part of the "old and slow" group. When he's fit and rested, it's clear he can still put in a huge shift - covering more ground that any other player, and often by a significant amount.

I think people forget he's four years younger than Gundogan, three years younger than De Bruyne, and has always had an amazing engine and fitness record.

Written off far, far too early by some.

I agree 100% - if there's one thing that has always been true about Pep's teams, it's that they generally work harder and cover more distance when they are chasing games and then they get their rest in once the games are won.

A lot of people don't realise Rodri has been one of the players who covers the most distance of anybody in our team, so when he got injured it left us with a huge hole in our running capability and we ended up coming something like 8th or 9th in distance covered last year. Rodri runs so much that he covers for some of the players in our team who don't run as much - like KDB, and Haaland. That's why we needed Bernardo so often towards the end of last year.

Bernardo always carries his weight when it comes to running and he continues to, he quite literally never stops moving. He's not been at his best recently with the ball at his feet but that's really only a small part of what he brings to this team.

Not a fan of Reijnders in a midfield two personally. Hopefully Savinho and Bobb work hard getting back against their full backs who like to attack.

Surprised by NOR not getting the nod either, one of the best performers in recent weeks and part of arguably our best defensive performance of the season away at Arsenal.

Not sure I'd have O'Reilly on the bench. Seems to me he's been good so far. Happy to trust the manager though on this occasion - he better be bloody right though ....

There’s literally only stones. Bernardo next to reijnders makes sense
