52 | Oscar Bobb - 2025/26

Not good enough to be starting in a game like today and may never be. Fine for early round cup games and CL dead rubbers and throwing him on to give someone like Foden a rest if we are 2-0 up and cruising.

Doesn’t have a killer instinct or physical ability and the injury may have killed his progress

He needs to develop and not here. Nowhere near the level we need on wing right now.

And yes, the hype was ridiculous. There’s parallels to Macheda at rags, scored one injury time goal and suddenly made out to be better than anything.

Was great in our dominant team. We need much better players on the wings. Bobb needs to play somewhere else to develop his skills.

One of a few in ours squad who sadly will never be good enough.

Living off that Newcastle winner. Impact sub for the last 20min at best

The year out added to the myth.

“Dont worry, bobb will be fit soon”

Not seen such misguided hype since bojinov

Bobb is talented, but his lack of intensity is worrying. Before his injury he was more "electric". Maybe is lack of self confidence.

He offers good first touch and passing, even helps a lot in defence, but needs to try more things. Has the quality to do it.

A catchy song won't mask him returning from the bench and not performing, He needs to up his game as the last few he has hit a brick wall

I don’t want to critise him or make sweeping generalisations on his future as I’m not sure what the plan is for him, the injury has clearly effected him and he is extremely inexperienced at this level

Whilst he looked a million miles away last night, he should be nowhere near the starting 11 for a game like that

Is the plan for him to be a first team starter or a squad player? He looks neat and and beat a man but as I’ve mentioned we’ve got 3 players like that. So I’m not sure what we do with him

Oscar Bobb is a seriously talented player.
We MUST learn that players at this age are not the finished article. They will have good days and off days. They will do some great stuff, and will fall.
There are posters here who seem to thrive on a loss and immediately start criticising individuals.
This was a collective defeat. It was possibly a flawed team selection against one of the best teams in the league who also defended extremely well. It happens.
That I haven't a clue who to vote for in the MOM thread, just like many others, demonstrates exactly that.
