Cover versions you think were better than the originals

Can't believe I've not posted in this thread, so here's a couple from me:

Sha Na Na's riotous version of Danny & The Juniors 'At The Hop' at Woodstock. Those guys went on to become law professors and linguistic experts

And Scott Walker's cover of Dylan's 'I Threw It All Away' is possibly his finest solo work

There is a town in southern Portugal called Tunes.
You change trains there when travelling from Lagos to Lisbon.

I don't know if it is the same if you are travelling from Lisbon to Lagos.

On a similar unrelated theme did you know George Galloway has a holiday home in Burgos?

Always found these two very similar , lyrics and music wise

and did you find that surprising at all?

This might be something not known to a lot of people here

The original, Signed D.C by Love

And the cover that I find really good by the band called The Brave New World, brought from obscurity by Mad Men, it featured as a background for a scene in one of the best episodes , "The Rejected".

Might be a controversial one, but I’ve always felt this specific version adds a bit more life in a way to the song as it’s a bit heavier
