I was at the game and on the one replay I have seen it looked as though he was standing next to the left-hand post, inviting the shot into the right corner. It was a great finish though.
Just watched it back and critically,Donna takes a small step to his right ( anticipating maybe a left footed player to shoot to his right) and that small step leaves him flat footed ..clear error of judgement I'm afraid.

FWIW it's a clear pen for us which Oliver DOES see, his view is not impeded.
It's such a clear push that our player knocks over a Villa player at the same time ...how Var checked that and dismissed it within 30 seconds I do not know.

Also Sav,whilst not being my fav player and mediocre all match ,did produce 2 fantastic strikes 2nd half hitting both left foot volleys in quick succession.
Hopefully a sign of more to come and certainly the closest we came to scoring all match ,which is why, maybe he picked up a few Mom votes ....

While grabbing that screen shot and catching the right moment, it was clear to me how quickly the outlook changes, at game pace, with everybody moving independently of each other.

Try it, you might find that you're expecting the impossible?

Who'd be a goalkeeper?

Am not saying he would have saved it, he might not .... but even taking one step away from the direction of the shot could be enough to limit your chances of actually saving it ..... he's a big goalkeeper, and that shot has come in from 20 yards out ... i suspect Cash has deliberately aimed for that corner of the goal because he saw the bigger gap opening up there.

But in that screenshot i'm also seeing other City players who might have done a bit more to block the shot before it actually gets anywhere near Donnarumma ... all the likes of Dias is interested in doing now is putting his hands behind his back as fast as he can, instead of charging at the player shooting and at least putting him off his shot!

Cash has deliberately aimed for the that corner and his movement infield on his stronger left side
Has def decieved our keeper...I've seen Foden do this a few times for City move infield before hitting left foot back across the goal.he is very good at it.

In any event it was a brilliant strike by Cash and given Villa didn't create anything else of note
Ill settle for the old adage " if your going to get beat...get beaten by a good goal " ; )

Yep, at least Cash didn't broadcast his intentions as he lined his shot up, which is more than i can say for Haaland when he broke through .... he should have smashed that chance right into the roof of the net, instead of making the save easy for Martinez.

Or gave the keeper the eyes and rolled in the right hand post.. wierd side foot attempt really. But he can be forgiven for that considering...

Yeah, it's unfair to expect him to,score on every occasion , we rely on him more than enough already ..... I think my frustration is purely because we created so few chances, especially first half ... we were a goal down, and we couldn't really afford to miss them .

But we can't do anything about that now .... we'll just have to try to take our chances when we face Bournemouth and Liverpool.
