63 | Divine Mukasa - 2025/26

He does need a loan move.
If Reis, Bah, Nypan and Echevrri are back next season, there won't be too many opportunities with the first team.
He needs to go out and get regular football gor at least a season. He is very young.
Reis and Bah are center backs, Nypan is a cm, escverri is a CAM, mukasa is a #9 so his position won't be affected, he will have plenty of games as back up to halaand

I know all that but Pep is not going to have an oversized squad.
He will not get plenty of games as back up to Haaland.
He will be better off going out on loan for a year and getting game time and an opportunity to prove himself just like the ones above yiu mention.

Hes isn't a 9 at all, he plays in the 10 more often than not, but can play deeper, or on the wing.
he can play across the front but #9 is where has been utilized as well like the last game. if he wants game time it will be there

He is an 8/10. In fact, his own comments said that he has not played #9 before.
There is no doubt that he can play that floating, false nine position. There is no Haaland alternative in the squad, and I would expect that in the absence of Haaland, the team will play a more fluid formation with Foden/Bobb/Mukasa taking up that central attacking role.

I think some people are still mixing him up with Mubama...

I was really impressed. I think he could be one we decide stays and never goes on loan. It happens sometimes. I understand people suggesting a loan, but a loan at the wrong club, playing the wrong style, does more harm than good. I'd keep him close to the first team for the rest of this season - what happens next season when all the loanees come back, well, who can say?

Bernardo/ Stones/ Ake all need to be phased out and we need to seriously start succession planning for Rodri as he'll be 30 next year. Savinho is probably looking to leave as well.

There will be openings for quite a few players if we think they're good enough.

He hardly ever played there for the youth teams. If he breaks through at City it'll not be as a 9 as it doesn't play to his strengths.
Yes he might have hardly played there as a youth but he won't get in at his current favoured position because its to stacked and pep frequently plays players out of position look at nico o reilly, hence why pep played him as a nine last time. He is big enough and well suited for it, and he did well there, you will probably see him there more going forward.

That wasnt you're initial point though was it, you said
He primarily plays as a #9

mukasa is a #9 so his position won't be affected

Neither of which are true. As Mattcity5 said I think you've confused him with Mubama who is a 9.

Much easier to shine in a settled side. Barring an injury crisis and the FA Cup, it’s unclear whether he will get many more opportunities this season. If we still owe Lyon a loan, that might be a good landing spot in January.

Not quite ready for the first team but perhaps if we are drawn to lower league opposition in the FA give him another crack.

He wouldn't start for Lyon. Needs a loan to a lower league side.

Perhaps, but it rather depends on whether you think he needs to be playing quality football or whether you think he just needs toughening up. Morton is admittedly older but has managed to get meaningful game time on loan from Liverpool, and homegrown Merah is younger and regularly involved.

I thought all things considered he was fine. Wasnt terrible wasnt great, nice dummy for cherkis shot that hit the post. Lost the ball once maybe twice, worked hard, was an option. All round fine.

Probably needs another half a dozen of those cup games against lower league opposition to find his feet.
