10 | Rayan Cherki - 2025/26

Great to see him giving us something we have missed all season. Will he okay Sunday?

He's being eased back into the side so people should expect him to be on the bench at the weekend.

Anyone else think we are a bit boring and predictable without Cherki in the team. I'm really hopeful this guy can take us back to being both fun to watch and also back to dominating games, he's that good.

Haha…great to see everyone jumping on the Cherki train…there’s plenty of space!

He almost single handedly took tonight’s match by the scruff of the neck where others failed to.

Was thrilled when we managed to sign him this summer & as stated earlier he’ll fill the Cole Palmer maverick quality football we let go.

I always knew he was a natural fantasista but every time I have seen him hes been more languid and with limited range, also more focused on looking good rather than producing something. Today he was buzzing everywhere, extremely active and constantly involved. Also always looking towards the goal, super direct. He really evolved as a player. Definitely City's future.

He'd been away from the pitch for two months, like Marmoush, Ait Nouri, and Khusanov. It showed with them, but not with him. The difference? When you're technically gifted and so skillful with both feet, everything becomes simple, it makes life easier.

4 minutes and 22 seconds of pure pleasure.

You can’t have watched Foden play on the wing before.

Also, too many are trying to get Foden into the team when in reality, bar United at home, he has been as poor as the likes of Savinho and Bobb this season.

A flicks and tricks moments footballer.

I love the fact he would go all the way to our central defenders to get the ball. I mean, he was everywhere, never stopped running, never stopped his positive, forward play. Always made something happen. Anything positive from us last night had Cherki at the heart of it. Should be starting every game for us.

got to thank wirtz and his family for rejecting us, now we get to watch this player become one of the elite playmakers in the world

I have to admit that I wanted Wirtz due to the hype, but having watched both I realise that Cherki has more natural ability and a much higher ceiling, pure arrogance with his abundance of ability. Also, much, much cheaper. Recruit did an outstanding job that I believe will make the difference in our fortunes compared to Dippers over the next 5,10 years.

Cherki is fabulously talented (imo, more so than Wirtz or Palmer), but there is a big gap in quality between Swansea and the top half PL teams. Cherki will need time to replicate that performance in the PL, especially against the top teams.

Cherki was sensational against Spain in June, but that was as a sub and there was more space due to tired legs. Can see the same pattern here: Pep will use him as an impact sub vs the best teams.

He's likely to start against Dortmund, though.

absolutely spot on,i had never seen cherki before we signed him so myself wanted wirtz as well

Looked good, like the way he used one-twos to pick his way through packed defence and that his quick feet mean that he can surprise a defender (like the shoot that hit the post). Some passing was a bit too close to team mates for them to take in stride - but that will come with games and familiarity with each other.

Once he is ready to start every week it will be interesting to see who drops out. I can see Cherki and Foden linking well as two 8/10's but that needs some defensive solidity behind them Gonzalez & Rodri?
