Coffee Machines at home

I use a Moka pot but buy good quality coffee
I've used a Moka pot for 15 years (along with the Lidl espresso machine). Superb.

I dont live near any decent coffee "emporiums", so just get stuff from supermarkets. Currently drinking a Japanese one called Ueshima, available at most supermarkets.
Not bad at all

Do y'all have straws at home too? to give you that Starbucks full experience :)
Why would I wan't that 'Starbucks full experience' at home?

The place is full of rad hipsters on iMac's, ****'s taking pictures of their soy latte's and moaning twats looking for a working power outlet to charge their phone so that they can watch Tik-Toc reels at full volume. Plus the lazy cunts in their cars get served twice as fast as everyone else at the drive-through window, and to top it all off their coffee is fucking shite.

Just bought the Ninja Premier Luxe Pro. Great machine and perfect coffee. Best thing I’ve bought in a long time. It’s a barista style one so you have to make it with a portafilter etc but it’s got a built in tamp function and looks the part.

I got 20% off at Argos. Not sure if it’s still on but Black Friday is coming up in November so I’d wait.

Marley (Bob) coffee beans are fab.

I've got the Sage Barista Pro but if I was starting again I'd probably go for the Bambino Espresso and a separate grinder. Once you get the hang of it, you'll get a far better cup of coffee than anything you get in a shop.

Check out this guy: https://www.cworks.co.uk/ His name is Kev Lewis and he reviews loads of gear on YouTube. I get my beans from him plus he usually has good discount codes if you want to buy a machine.

I posted his retail site but the poster above has just posted Kev's blog.
Can you tell the difference between fresh beans and supermarket ones? Since Christmas, I've gone from ground coffee to supermarket beans this year. Whilst hand grinding the beans adds to the whole display (compared to instant!), I'm not sure I can really tell the difference to the ground coffee, but that's with a pour over rather than an espresso machine.

Waiting for black Friday and will probably go for the Sage Barista Express Impress or Ninja Luxe Pro based on price and may have to up the game to fresh beans.

I've had an Aeropress for a few years and it's never let me down. I use the Tesco Italian ground coffee and a milk whisker and honestly it's superb and simple. It's far better than any Starbucks etc and honestly, for the money you can't go wrong. We have these fancy machines in work and I don't think they taste any better!

Taken the plunge and bought my first coffee machine for christmas. Delonghi magnificent or something, 300 quid from argooos.
Any coffee bean suggestion? something mellow, not strong or bitter.

A cheap and simple way of having decent coffee, without a machine (materials waste - pods, cost, size etc), or a Cafetiere (pain to clean), is an https://www.aeropress.co.uk/ - with or without grinder.

You can take it anywhere, with a flask of hot water - marvellous if you need a hit of caffiene on a hike in chilly weather.
The only ongoing expense - coffee, ground or beans, and small filter papers (buy in hundred filter generic packets online from Amazon etc).

The satisfying 'pop' to dispose of the filter and grounds in a bin (green waste) via the device...

I’ve had one for a month or so and it’s definitely better than Starbucks or Costa. I just want a mug of black coffee in a morning, nothing fancy. I haven’t tried anything else yet like an espresso as it would require measuring out water and all that palaver. Much easier than a French-press to clean though and even Aldi beans taste good. £2.99 pack is giving me about 15 drinks, so 20p a cup.

Yeah , I can see why people like the 'pod' machines, as it creates less cleaning up compared to a cafetiere, but the aeropress blows a 'pod' machine (and a cafetiere) away for ease of use, saving the planet, portable, smaller, cheaper.
