It’s a common reaction from a Liverpool manager when they going through a bad period to think I know let’s take a swipe at Man City to take the spotlight off us! Slott ain’t got long he will be sacked if they lose a few more league games because the fans will stop going, they won’t want to fly in from Ireland or Europe to watch a losing team! They have history for that under Hodgson!
Sorry to disagree but I think you do the Anfield faithful a disservice there. As I recall, the media reported Liverpool fans were "staying away in protest" when Hodgson was in charge.
They were protesting how the club was being run and the quality of football on display. Of course, the results mattered but that wasn’t what was at the heart of the matter for the spineless, entitled shower of crybaby shit fans who....
Dammit! I nearly got to the end with a straight face.

Ah make up and excuse not to go by saying the football is crap that’s entitled fans!

It does, but can you honestly see that happening? I can't. And they'd need us and every other 'chaser' to go through a really bad patch for a similar run of games.
It's well documented that Slot has fucked up royally by doing what he's done, I think most are in agreement with that, and even in the unlikely event of Bingo returning to steady the ship he'd have to take on all of Slot's signings, which would put them back even more.
I believe (and if I'm honest, I hope!) that this will go done as one of the biggest fuck ups in the history of the Prem.
At the moment, and based on their performances, no I don’t see them going on a run like that but things can change very quickly in football.

I saw City’s starting 11 & they didn’t have 1 starter from the team beaten by Villa ……….

However 8 players played in both.
And we had Trafford, O'Reilly, Foden, Bobb, Lewis, Mukasa, from our youth teams. It's not our fault Liverpool don't seem to be able to produce youngsters from their academy. Still they have one of ours with Frimpong.

I suppose Earnie Lost will blame Manchester City for Nallo being sent off only 13 minutes after he came on.

After all, it’s bound to be our fault.
Nallo said he’d been watching videos of Marmoush’s first touch.

Unfortunately for Nallo, he can’t shoot like Aguero and be as fast as Sane.

You don't pick that side, and bench against a very good side (who has beaten you twice recently) wanting to progress.

It all seems very intentional. He wanted out of the competition and is seeking to lay the blame elsewhere. The sad bastard.

Jurgen Slott had made a complete **** of himself.

Yeah, teams rotate in the League Cup all the time but many of them still put players in with a fair bit of first team experience. That looked more like an EDS line-up with a few first teamers randomly chucked in.
