Match discussion - West Ham (H) - Saturday 1 Nov K.O. 12:00pm

Who’s the shit for brains co commentator on Sky? Just said the stats were equal in the first half! Only if you ignore the fact that one team had over 70 percent possession!!

LBB been very good again today apart from that one brain fart first half. Should be mom or wom.

Attackers profligate again.

Ordinary performance.

1 shot on target out of 16 is not great stats.

Aoba has been great and Laura B-B after a few shaky moments in the first half has done really well this second half.

You have to wonder what is going on with Clinton, Lohmann and Knaak that they either don't make the bench or get mins in such a game.

They found the perfect replacement ref. Almost as shit as the one in the first half.

A win is a win I guess but the area we needed to really work on from last season was midfield - we make 2 statement signings and again the manager went to Coombs ahead of Clinton as first change. We will run Yui into the ground again. We seem to have a lot of players who get injured in training.

Aoba and Laura B-B the 2 standouts. Yama did well when it mattered but we need far more from Bunny and Viv in terms of chances and goals. I'm not convinced we are at our very best with both in at the moment as it leaves far too much space for Yui and L B-B to cover. Finally a very quiet game from Iman, she looked tired today.

Ugly as hell game and win but at least they got over the line.

Watched quite a few of the games this season and we were drab at Liverpool but scraped a win, awful at Newcastle and drew with a win on pens, and way under par again today but won - maybe this new manager is a lucky one?

Thought Jade Rose excellent at the back, and Hasegawa and Fujino probs the pick of the rest in terms of playing near their level. Blinkilde-Brown has often shone brightly this season but I thought she was slightly under par today and almost gave a goal away. Shaw and Miedema up top were particularly poor, and the left back is a walking catastrophe defensively.

A wins a win but with Lohmann and Clinton sat there on the bench, and Hemp (if she's ever fit) and Greenwood there are better players to come in and help if we are to hold any ambitions of winning things.

Distinct lack of energy in the team today. The international break and travelling probably had an effect. Hope Greenwood's injury isn't too serious as we lack leadership when she's missing and I feel less comfortable with a Rose/Prior CB pairing. Blinky had a better 2nd half and we controlled more of the play as a result. 3 points and we move on.

A win is a win, and a first clean sheet too. Not a great performance, and quite possibly Bunny's worst game for us.

LBB wasn't at her best first half, but she was excellent in the second, Hasegawa, Fujino, and Miedema played well, Prior far better than her last game, Rose and Yamashita solid enough. Beney looks a good player, but she was poor today.

The refereeing - a joke.

Where do they get those shot stats from I've just seen 5 shots on target?
Miedema blocked one on the way to the back of the net from Auba in the incident where Gracie hit the bar plus another 3 blocked in the 6 yard box by West Ham. Including the goal thats 5. Statistician as blind as the comms team.

We don't know the fitness situation of Knaak, Clinton, Wienrother, or Lohmann (who wasn't on the bench incidentally), and we have Fowler, Greenwood, Layzell, Kerolin, and Hemp out injured, all of which would be likely starters, plus Murphy. The rest of the bench today (Keating apart) aren't even listed in the playing squad.

We are second, and comfortably ahead of others, and with that injury list I think that's quite remarkable.

West Ham played well today, defended brilliantly, without being a defensive block like many other teams, they deserve credit, but they didn't deserve a point whatever the sky idiots thought though. We took our one good chance, and on another day we'd have scored from a couple of other chances.

The right team won in the end.

bbc only has 1 on target from 18 efforts.

Probably as much as you can say about that game to be honest. We wanted far too much time on the morning and our finishing was really quite dreadful. Will have to play considerably better in the next home match. As you say three points and we move on.

Pretty much how I saw it. Jade was comfortably POTM particularly given she played the full 90 in both internationals and she was shunted onto the left in this game.

Aoba gets the silver medal for a well taken goal (would have been 2 if Viv hadn't decided to start playing for West Ham) and could have had 2 assists if Yui and player-escapes-me had converted.

LBB redeemed herself with the second half performance.
Beney looks a good player, but she was poor today.

This isn't hindsight, but I thought this might have been a game for Coombs to start as both Fujino and Beney had played both matches in the break, and leaving Beney on the bench would have given us an attacking substitute option.

Assuming Knaak and Clinton weren't 100% the bench was very weak.

Anyone have any info on M.Burdon & S. Shikhshabekova, who were both on the bench today?

Sat next to Millie Burdons dad for a bit today. Lovely bloke. He said Millie has been in the academy for two years after coming from Sunderland and plays in the same position as Yui.

Apparently the first team are great with the academy girls who join training and match day squads
