Oh and I forgot the increased number of free childcare places all whilst dealing with the firestorm of a shit show they were left by the outgoing government.

Done more for the working class in the last 15 months than the Tories did in the last 15 years.

As a father of a neuro-diverse child who attends a SEND school, I take offence at your frankly disgusting fucking remarks.
I'm not disputing that there are genuine and severe examples of people with SEN, ND and mental health conditions, unfortunately these people don't get the full help and support they need and should get due to the explosion in people claiming to have all range of SEN, ND and mental health conditions when they have no such condition at all or they're massively exaggerating the nature of the condition.

My daughter teaches children with SEN ............ you obviously have no f@cking idea other than what you read in the Mail / Express.

I think it's fair to say that this fella's made some pretty disgusting remarks all round and, like Dax and others of a similar ilk, should be ignored.

'Othering' and castigating certain groups that don't fit his very narrow ''I'm alright Jack' views are traits that come straight out of the far-right/Reform/30p Lee handbook.

Maybe he should spend some time at a SEND school, as I did recently? I found it to be an amazing, emotional and humbling experience.
"Othering" tells me all I need to know about how much you understand about the real world.

It's earned you some valuable virtue signalling social media brownie points though.

Don't read either unfortunately.

I'll say again for the hard of thinking, there are obviously some very genuine cases of SEN, ND and mental health conditions out there that deserve all the help and support they need... but sadly they don't get that help because of the huge numbers of people who are gaming the system with nothing more than very mild examples of these conditions, that's if they even have them at all.

What qualifies you to make such statements and present them as fact though?

And how the fuck do you know the nature of someones condition?

And you with your rose tinted idealism lumps everyone into completely the opposite categories...

ALL immigrants are skilled, qualified high earning, net contributors,
ALL benefits claimants are entirely genuine and are on benefits through no fault of their own and definitely aren't using benefits as a lifestyle choice,
ALL public sector workers are incredibly hard working, efficient and entirely committed to their jobs.

In answer to your question, surely one simple way to "encourage" them is by not allowing them the choice of doing no work or minimal work and claiming benefits instead.

And maybe they might be more encouraged to do those jobs if the pay levels weren't so low... the pay levels being so low because the employers are able to use abundant cheap migrant labour.

It's all about joining the dots and is really not that complicated when you take the time to do so.
I said:

"The problem is you really do lump everyone in those groups into the same category. That clearly is not the case."

By inference that works the other way, so of course not ALL are skilled...blah, blah, and frankly it's condescending of you to suggest that's what I meant.

You certainly could go down the route of of not allowing the choice of no work. The practicalities of forcing people into jobs they don't want to do are massive, but mainly I would suggest for the employers. If you lost your job tomorrow(assuming you have one as your presence on here seems to take up quite a bit of the working day), how long would you expect the system to provide some benefit?

As for low pay, you're right at the most basic level. But imagine that to encourage your kids to go and work in the local abattoir/care home/hotel, salaries are now lifted to such a rate that the end product becomes unaffordable to anyone but the rich. Eventually those businesses become unviable. So less jobs, more out of work... It's a vicious circle.

We all want highly paid and preferably highly skilled workforce, but the very nature of that also requires a sub set of vital occupations and workers who will, unfortunately, be left out of that category. As I used to say to my colleagues who would instantly notice if their workspace hadn't been cleaned overnight for whatever reason, but had no idea if their general manager had been on leave for a week. The absence of one had an immediate impact on their working environment and was paid a pittance, the other not so.

Oh, and PIP isn't work dependent.

So you're saying that those ''gaming the system'' are able to get past their doctors and health professionals ... then past the DWP assessors ......

Well my local river is still of human faeces and my PIP claiming neighbour has just had her third foreign holiday this year despite being too ill to work. So I'm afraid I ain't seeing these improvements.

I think that you are misunderstanding the purpose of Personal Independence Payments.... (PIP) . They are to make up the cost of someone who is ill and having to pay more because of that illness and those living a ''normal '' life. Its meant to allow them to live as close to a ''normal'' life as possible.... it doesn't stop them from going on holiday or going shopping ... its designed to allow them to do those things if its at all possible

Nail on head mate, well said. I would add, it’s shit being disabled and also bloody expensive

So why is UK private sector productivity so poor?

Loss of banking sector jobs, gas and oil investment, reduction in manufacturing roles, broadly speaking the higher paid jobs have shrunk in UK or capital intensive roles have diminished being replaced with labour intensive roles - the jobs tax (aka NI hike) makes matters worse.

Public sector productivity decline is significantly worse than private sector decline over the past 5 years or so - partly driven by stagnating wages (so people were promoted to compensate) but that has led to a huge increase of inward facing roles in the public sector - this will take years to fix but it’s perfectly possible to do through natural wastage (ie only hire to fill roles that are outwardly facing).

Cheap labour abroad doesn’t affect UK productivity they are abroad if you mean people from aboard working for low wages in the UK there is minimum wages and they are being replaced by machines anyway as show in the earlier comments with the ordering machines

Cheap labour facilitates labour intensive roles which absolutely reduces UK productivity.
