The standard of the Premier League is above the Champions League now.

Teams like Bournemouth and Villa gave City more of a game than Dortmund. Teams like Palace, Man United and Brentford give Liverpool more of a game than Real Madrid. Fulham and West Ham gave Newcastle more trouble than Bilbao and Benfica...

Wolves (worst team in the PL) would beat Ajax (worst team in the CL).

Yeah only Bayern and PSG (without the injuries) are truly top currently, I think the Madrid twats will get there eventually and you can't disregard their CL record.
 
Chelsea and Barca 3pts behind us now and they play each other next at Stamford Bridge.

Barca's last 3 games should be straight forward but Chelsea still have to go to Atalanta and Napoli on the last day (Jan 28)

Did Chelsea have one disallowed? I was listening to Radio Manchester on the way to the game and they said Chelsea had gone 2-1 down then later said they'd turned it round and were 3-2 up.
 
Got back in last night and just caught the NUFC game followed by the Brugge v Barca game. Fuck me, there was Taylor given this gig on the back of his performance v Bournermouth. He gave Brugge a pen after the attacker had fallen over his own feet and then allowed a goal after Brugge attacker had attempted sexual congress with Scszcscszny in the Barca goal. Mind, with Uefa breathing down his neck rather than the halfwits at PiGMOL 'n the PL he had the wit to go and check the monitor both times and changed his mind - no pen, no goal.

And yet PL sides have only won 4 CL's in the last 15 years, La Liga have 8 wins

Why are you pretending 2010 is relevant to the state of European football now?

We all know that Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG and Bayern are among the 10 best teams in Europe and will always have a good chance of winning. A chance that is boosted by the fact they usually get to March/April and can rest whoever they want in the league games before and after CL 2 legged matches while the PL teams have to play their best XI 10 times in a month if they want to get through the 1/4 and semi finals and keep their position in the league.

There's been 9 different clubs in the last 6 CL finals. 5 of them are English, 2 German, 1 French, 1 Italian.

The PL is starting to dominate european competition. Real, Bayern are still able to compete thanks to uncompetitive domestic scenes, a proper winter break, fewer league fixtures and cup competitions, while but you only have to listen to people like Perez and Ruminigge to hear they don't think they'll be able to keep themselves in that position for much longer.

The premier league's biggest issue is simply the competition in-league.

We don't even need to bother arguing about this because it's literally measured by UEFA. Put together the results of all european matches played by teams from various countries and you get the country coefficients.

Fuck me Bayern fans are hard work. Bunch of them on Arsenal subreddits trolling about going to the Emirates in a couple of weeks and scoring 5, completely ignoring the fact they played 1 good game against a depleted PSG team, and the rest against absolute cannon fodder in the CL and Bundesliga.

Nobody is more annoying than Liverpool fans but this lot are in a contest with United fans for most delusional.
