Did you know that in the 19th century tart was slang for a pretty woman? Possibly as in sweetheart.
All that had changed a 100 years later and tart came to solely mean prostitute - the era in which she was a young woman.
Do you think promiscuity in women makes them akin to prostitutes? And i suppose the follow-up question to that is, nowadays, do you morally judge promiscuous women differently to promiscuous men?
(I ask because that's how your post, to me, comes across and i hope i am incorrect)
