Last Film You Saw

Moving on.
Jane Fonda,Lily Tolman and Malcolm McDowell.Gentle comedy in which I enjoyed.
Fonda and Tolman try to kill McDowell after meating up at McDowells wife funeral.
Lily Tolman is great as usual
A movie I enjoyed something completely different for me. All been done before but never thought of switching off once. 7.
Who's Lily Tolman?

Bugonia. Yorgos Lanthimos at his twisted best with a famous CEO (Emma Stone) kidnapped by incel Teddy (Jesse Plemons) who's convinced himself that she's an alien.

If you like Lanthimos (Dogtooth, The Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer, Poor Things) this should be on your list (maybe not if you don't like a bit of gore). Try and avoid misleading spoiler reviews.

Watched The Machinist (2004) with a skeletal Christian Bale (He lost 28kg for the role) as insomniac who “hasn’t slept for a year” and is slowly mentally and physically coming apart. Interesting and enjoyable film - if a bit dark. 7/10

Also “the Young Offenders” about two “scally” teenage lads in Cork trying to get rich quick. Very funny in parts, but missed some bits of dialogue due to their accents ! Well worth a watch. Harmless fun 7.5/10
(Just found out this was turned into a series - will definitely be taking a look at that)
young offenders was originally a tv show and was then made into a movie if you liked the film the series is better a bit like the inbetweeners where the films werent as good as the series

Watched the new Frankenstein film last night and was very impressed. Thought it was superb and the cinematography stunning. Great costumes and sets. Interesting take on the plot, highlighting the life story of Victor Frankenstein and that of his tragic creation. Would be even better in a cinema. 9/10

Did she put the candle back?

The smashing machine... was looking forward to watching this but the film was so slow I turned off after 1 hour.
I'll give this film 5/10 and that's only because Emily blunt looks fit.

Muscle (2019)
A Craig Fairbrass film directed by Gerard Johnson cousin of Matt from The The.
Pretty good but a bit of a cringe watch.

I also watched it last night, and even though I'm not really a fan of the original Frankenstein story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just watching the last hour of Shawshank. I never tire of watching that film. Freeman is a brilliant actor and narrator. He could read the phone book, and make it sound interesting. And Robbins played a blinder as Andy.

"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies"
I've seen that film many times, if it came on now I'd watch it again, it's that good.
"I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

"Some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright."
Impossible to read those quotes in anything other than freeman's voice.
Some film that.

Myself and the missus have got Carry On Spying loaded up and ready to play, I know it's excellent because I have watched it many times.

"Red, I do believe you're talking out of your ass".

"He (Brooks) should have died in here". A simple, but brilliant, line.

It was a weird one, I stuck with it but fuck me it was boring. Even the fight scenes didn't liven it up.

frankenstein ,been waiting for this one really enjoyed it probably watched it again this afternoon.
I watched it the other night and just came on here to mention it.
When i saw it was 2 and half hours i thought it might be a bit much but it is an excellent film, well-acted by everyone.
I even enjoyed the creature's northern english accent.

Shout out to christoph waltz for being in both it and luc besson's dracula.
