Will we win the league this season?

Now till Jan

Arsenal fixtures (26pts)

Spurs H, Chelsea A, Brentford H, Villa A, Wolves H, Everton A & Brighton H

City fixtures (19pts)

Liverpool H, Newcastle A, Leeds H, Fulham A, Sunderland H, Palace A, West Ham H & Forest A

Liverpool fixtures (18pts)

City A, Forest H, West Ham A, Sunderland H, Leeds A, Brighton H, Spurs A, Wolves H

Ignoring our game today. Liverpool have the easiest set of fixtures over the festive period, they could easily win them all. Newcastle & Palace are our two stand out tough ones, i see us winning the other 5, Arsenal have some very tough fixtures and with their current injuries could struggle.

We simply have to beat Liverpool today.

Come on City.

I predicted liverpool to win the league. I knew they will have this poor run or form sooner or later because they have too many new players to gel into the first team. But I also predicted they will eventually come over this poor form because they have too good a squad and have invested heavily.
We also have new players. But we have them 6 months ago so we are better off then them in this gelling criteria.
However now I think its Arsenal to lose. Yes they have as much new players as City and liverpool but they are in the squad not the first team.
If arteta did win nothing this year he should resign.

We need two new elite strikers.

City need a clear out in January:
Bobb
Savinho
Gonzalez
Nunes
Ake
Reijndeers
Lewis

We also need someone in to take a corner.
I am sorry to tell you but there wont be any major outgoing or ingoing this january.
The only probability is outgoing of either Trafford or Ortega.

We won the league four years in a row and had one season of finishing 3rd. Of course we’re a top side.

We’ve also got the best manager in the world, best striker, arguably best gk and a load of fantastic players.
Absolutely right...
We just won the league one year back. Why cant we now ? We still have the best manager in the history of football.

A lot needs to happen, and it needs to happen now.

Despite all our recent recruitment, we've still got 3-4 new signings who've hardly kicked a ball, and not really had the time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League.
However, that's more to do with individual potential which isn't the subject of the thread.

To be anywhere near genuine title contenders we need a fully fit Rodri performing somewhere near his previous consistency, and we need Foden to start scoring goals.
That's also assuming that Haaland maintains his current form and fitness, and that Marmoush and Cherki both start contributing goals and assists.

Arsenal might still drop silly points, but without all the above, I just can't even see City anywhere near the top of the Premier League
Nico has been a more than good deputy for Rodri, Foden is back to his best and in his best he is a world class player. Marmoush is more than capable replacement for haaland. Very few teams has a better striker backup. We have marmoush and foden (false nine) .
Plus we have dias back to his best, Nico prpobably the best LB in the league (as conformed by england manager selecting him in the england team).
Nunes and khusanov has been good as RB. My only concern is about Rico lewis. If he plays we will fail.

We still have a number of players, very good players, that have barely featured yet this season. Irrespective of the result today against Liverpool, as long as we are within touching distance by January’s end, we’ll be in with a shout.

Only see Rico as a squad player, seen nothing from him to say more than that…

Arsenal playing their absolute best whereas we know we can get even better.

4 points behind with a fully fit Rodri still to return.

For the first time I do think w can win it. We're looking good, a lot of cover in a lot of areas. The players are gelling and we're playing a more direct style.

I do think Arsenal are shooting their bolt again, we'll see, but we miight be a little imperious now. Newcastle important to maintain the memtum.

If there were ever any doubts they have just completely vanished. We can 100% win this league and Arsenal will now be starting to look over their shoulder.

We still have to go to Anfield, Spurs, Rags, Newcastle and Bournemouth. I think Arsenal have already played most big teams at home except us? But atleast we are in the running.

I'm going to keep updating this even though some people don't like it because I think it gives great perspective on how far we've come since last year. If we continue at the rate we are currently improving on the games where we dropped points last season (effectively dropping half as many), then we would end on 92 points.
