Media discussion - 2025/26

Don’t think those bastions of impartiality at the BBC took it too well yesterday did they? They were showing replays of John Stone’s goal against Wolves last season when Slot was being interviewed having a moan about it.

Then they got Murphy and Rooney to say it was a goal in the studio afterwards.

Fuck em let them fume about it, Dias had a perfectly good goal ruled out two years ago. Milner should have walked at Anfield but didn’t, not to mention Alexander Arnold playing basketball in front of the Kop. Karma is a bitch, suck it up lah.
Not to mention salahs offsides when var mysteriously stopped working

Their goal was rightly disallowed. But even if it was given, there was no chance for them yesterday. Bradley on a high having dominated Vinicius in the CL faced Jeremy and was brought back crashing down to earth. Similarly, Nico despite knocks, gave Salah very little and left him wondering why he started this game. The other Nico was just Rodri in disguise wearing no.14 and utterly bossing the much hyped Gravenberch. Matheus locked down the right flank and gave 116 million pounds man Wirtz absolutely nothing all game. Ruben and Josko made Ekitike vanish from Manchester altogether. Erling despite being quiet planted a towering header beating Konate and was a menace all game. Phil and Bernardo were their usual tricky, hustling & bustling self and dominated Mcallister and Szoboslai. And 1 or 2 times when they actually attacked, Gigio was there to mop up.

So, they can moan all they want about the disallowed goal, they were not getting anything out of the game yesterday. This was the flagship performance of this young, emerging and dangerous City side and the world will be shaking again!
That’s absolute poetry, I read that with Morgan Freeman’s voice in my head.

But they said nothing when ours have been scrubbed off v the Dippers.
The 'media' is a nebulous construct, and we can always look for bias in minute detail but it's not always 'anti-City' or 'pro-anybody else'.

I think we are in danger of giving journalists too much credit for individual and independent thought, they respond to prevailing attitudes, the zeitgeist if you will, and they do so in order to inflame opinions, create debate and encourage outrage.

They aren't paid to be right, they are paid to engage and there are very few journalists/pundits/commentators that aren't subject to these constraints.

In short, the vast majority of journalists are vacuous shills, word whores, and craven lickspittles.

MOTD showed more City hi-lights in the post match analysis then the actual match hi-lights.
And is digging stuff up from previous seasons going to be the new norm ?
Because I expect there's a full video library of stuff that's gone again teams at Anfield over the years!

This decision has already been given more air time/ discussion bringing in ‘experts’ from all over to give their opinion. Bothroyd ,who would give merson a run for his money on being the thickest sky pundit, being the latest idiot.
I don’t remember this level of outcry when palace keeper hand balled outside the area, no sending off not even a free kick, minimal discussion

Oh they had them all out when we had a similar goal for us against wolves allowed it was oh it shouldn’t be allowed he was blocking the goalies view now they arguing the opposite total hypocrites sky radio social media!

They keep comparing it to Stones goal at Wolves but its very different. The keeper pushes Silva out of the way and is fully ready with perfect vision to.see the action.
Yes, they kept showing this, as Kavanagh was involved in both instances. Looked like they were insinuating the same referee was biased ?
But, as Bernardo is five foot nothing, the goalie had a great, unobstructed view of Johnny Pebbles' bullet header.
The media, trying as usual, to make out LFC were robbed...

Did you dig out your "17th century book of terrible insults" for that last paragraph mate???

It's always ominous, or worrying, or threatening when City start winning.

Any other club and it's promising or turned a corner.

Our sports media is run by man babies
I take that sort of thing as a compliment myself, why do you think Arsenal go full bottle job around Christmas every season? We're in their heads.
