President Trump

So he didn't say we're going to walk down and support our brave senators, and then immediately say we're going to fight, fight, fight.

He did say, after rambling as usual:

And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore.

Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement, for our children, and for our beloved country.

And I say this despite all that's happened. The best is yet to come.

So we're going to, we're going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we're going to the Capitol, and we're going to try and give.

The Democrats are hopeless — they never vote for anything. Not even one vote. But we're going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don't need any of our help. We're going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.

So let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue.

I want to thank you all. God bless you and God Bless America.

Thank you all for being here. This is incredible. Thank you very much. Thank you.

A stupid, unnecessary thing for the BBC to have done, certainly.

But if the documentary had to include every word of his salad, nobody would still be watching after 5 minutes. There was enough in his speech for an impeachment - years previously - so who exactly was the BBC supposed to have influenced? Were there really potential voters who didn't know already about trump?

And he'll sue them for what? - defamation of character?!? Pass the bucket...

Tell him to fuck off, and in the mean time, create a series of documentaries about his lies, his business failures, his misogyny, his history of sexual assault, his conviction for the mattress actress payout, his overseas web of business dealings, etc, etc, etc…

The BBC is shown all over the world. Saturate the airwaves with him, in his own words, which is all you need to publicly bury him!

The U.S. media is clearly scared shitless of him, as I’ve not seen a single mainstream news story about his standing like a statue during a medical emergency or half the other stuff he seems to get away with from the media.

He is attempting to intimidate everyone, from billionaire tech bros to media outlets to anyone who doesn’t “look American” on the streets. He needs to feel the heat for his decades of bullshit, but who will be brave enough???

Caught a bit of News Night last night and a British journalist (FT) said pretty much the same thing (noticing how fearful the US media are of him right now).

The haunted pencil with the Nanny (Jacob Rees-Mogg) was of course digging his claws into the BBC (vested interests and all that) and doing his usual rude talking over techniques. I thought I'd seen the last of him on terrestrial TV and could have done with a warning, or at least a red pencil icon in the top right of the screen.

Just followed your link and read that diatribe again - constant lies about everything to do with the election. Unfounded accusations, one after another. Begging Pence to save his face.

This is a bit like somebody who openly, proudly, shoplifts every day, complaining about being wrongly accused of shoplifting on the one day that they didn't nick anything.

The Capitol riots of Jan 6th have been done to death on here, but just as a reminder:

He'd been winding his supporters up for weeks with his 'Stop the Steal' bullshit, and the tinder was bone dry. He chose that place, that day, and that time to hold his rally. He knew it needed just a single spark, and he gave it to them.

He unexplainably ordered the metal detectors to be removed for the crowds at his rally, saying "They're not here to hurt me; let them in". With the potentially armed crowd in place he and his goons wound them up, (remember Rudy's "Let's have trial by combat" rally cry?), and told them to march down to the Capital. Even if you think his words in isolation don't amount to incitement to riot, he did nothing to defuse the situation and he certainly would have known what was going to happen.

As the rioting broke out he did absolutely nothing, despite sworn testimony at his impeachment trial (Cassidy Hutchinson and others) that he was asked repeatedly by aides and members of his family to do something. He sat back and gleefully watched it unfold on live TV, and he waited a whole 187 minutes to put out a Tweet to tell his supporters to stand down, only when it was clear his plan was't going to succeed.

And why during the riots was his former Chief of Staff, Mark Meadows furiously burning documents in the fireplace, and why also did he and numerous others refuse to testify? They all knew, and they helped him destroy and withhold evidence.

Does any of that sound like a man who wasn't planning an armed insurrection?

Maybe of interest to you if you arnt fully aware why Trump was holding this speech in the first place and why they were going to the Capitol.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_fake_electors_plot

No matter how Trumpards try twist it the entire speech was about attempting to overthrow democracy with fake votes, which only failed because Mike Pence didnt go along with it. This is why the crowd were chanting "hang Mike Pence" with a gallows in the crowd. The entire point of them going to the capitol was Trump attempting to disrupt and scare/force them into using the fake votes, there was a very real risk they could have killed congress-people if not for swift action to evacuate them, people in the crowd openly admitted on video they were there to do that and Trump deliberately did nothing to stop them until hours later when it was clear it wouldnt succeed.

Trump has since pardoned all the convicted insurrectionists.

You will never find Trump voters speaking about this as they know its undefendable and for some reason people think Jan 6th was just some rioting, no it was the finale of an attempted coup long in the making. Any American who supports Trump knowing this is a traitor to democracy.

You have to remember that many of the dumb chucklefucks who support him couldn't tell the difference between a democracy or a dictatorship if their lives depended on it, hence his 'I like stupid people' comments.

Anyone following the Michael Wolff updates on instagram (Melania Trump suing him...).
V interesting, He sure knows some stuff about Humpty Trumpty.

when he could have just told the truth and said " I lost in a fair election so we fight another day"

Yep, I was following it at the time, on US channels.

That's why I agree with an earlier post on here stating that the BBC may well have edited the tape, but they still didn't 'misrepresent' him. Their edit just paraphrased what he was really saying anyway.

Problem is, the idiocy among MAGA - who never care about the chronology of events - is such that they will now use this as justification for continuing to believe that nothing was wrong with anything that he did, and that pardoning all the rioters was the correct thing to do.
