It's funny seeing people rushing outside to take photos of the night sky because TV or Facebook friends mentioned it.

21st century cave dwellers. It's a wonder they're not all rushing out to stock up on toilet rolls.

Nothing visible around the parts tonight, and the skies are clear.. Apparently, they were visible last night in Cork, Clare and Wexford, which are all in the southern half of the country.

Look through your phone camera on night mode in a northerly direction. Always thought it was a bit of 'meh' but got the below last night.

Compared to what was visible last May, I'm not sure if that is the Aurora.

I took this picture tonight.
A work colleague was sent a picture similar to this by his mum, saying “look outside at the view”.
We went outside and couldn’t see a thing, dark and grey clouds.
The work colleague took her phone out and took a picture and the lights were there!
I aimed my phone to the skies and this is what my camera snapped!
My first ever sighting of the lights, even though I couldn’t se it with my own eyes!

tonight is forcast to be stronger than last night. last night was higher levels than last year when they showed in Manchester.

Have you not got to take a few photos over time and them blend them together to het a good photo?

Nah, Just a slightly longer exposure. A standard night photo on my iPhone does 2/3 seconds exposure and thats was fine.

to the naked eye last year you could see "something" but with the camera's longer exposure it all came out far move vivid.
This was last year from Stretford, could see the red with naked eye but not the line detail.
