Media discussion - 2025/26

Correct, 100% manufactured bullshit. SKY basically feed their sock puppets with their lines, there was no controversy, it was an obvious decision. Even Web has come out and explained something he knows needs no explanation. SKY set the narrative and BBC etc all follow suit.

Sky, not to put too fine a point on it, are cunts for whipping up controversy.
Every international break, they're at it. Regular as clockwork.

There's a good article yesterday from Forbes "The Forgotten L'pool v City Unfair Referee Call (don't know how to post it it's on Apple News) by Zak Garner-Purkis. Compares 2023 Akanji being judged to have fouled Allison in the goal build up and how Pep mildly questions the decision to how Slot turned up at the press conference on Sunday with his research, states how someone in the media zone must have been busy showing dipper players video clips and questioning why they are still bagging on about it through the media. The best line though is "there are numerous occasions when teams facing the reds have suffered unjust calls that have gone in Liverpool's favour. It's worth remembering that before trying to trash a refs rep or turn the whole postgame narrative into a debate about a marginal subjective call!"

I've lost it for now but there was a video clip from Five Live(?) between one of the main presenters and Danny Mills where to Mills great disgust, liverpool were told to "get back in their box" over the goal that never was. That'll be death threats incoming then.

Notwithstanding the footage not shown by MOTD etc which revealed he was clearly grabbing and shoving Donnarumma as the ball was played
But that doesn’t fit the narrative
Had the same ‘goal’ been disallowed at the other end, it wouldn’t even have made the MOTD highlights. Bournemouth’s scandalous equalizer didn’t generate this media maelstrom

Hate this comparison with Stones goal at wolves, its just there to suggest we get all the decisions.

Sky and their minions going way over the top in their pursuit of whipping up hatred toward us.

Someone should measure how close Bernie was to the flight of the ball compared to robertson as thats the real crux of the matter.

Also, as I remember sky were totally against that goal at wolves at the time, their hypocrisy needs calling out, utter crap.

Weve suffered many a time with a lot worse from the refs/var, especially v these cnts so fck em.

Btw, no other fans are siding with em that I have spoken to, so skys anti City recruitment not working lol.

Didn't someone say the rule has been amended since that goal?

The media don't really read the room siding with the scouse cunts - no one else can stand them

Another new article on BBC about it, 3 days after the match. Anything against us and it’s forgotten about and history moments after full time, but any decision against the Dippers and their victim mentality means its probably going to be mentioned in a years time for its anniversary
And The Last Post followed by a minutes silence. Forget the heroes of two world conflicts, Liverpool being treated unfairly by a ref is an even bigger travesty.

I say all of this in jest at that pathetic slimy club. My folks were in WW2, they never complained. No lessons have been learned by that detestable organisation.

And fwiw my dad lived behind the kop as a child prewar and the club bought all of those houses to expand the ground. All family memories lost

My dad got away, he was educated and strangely for a scouser had a professional job and lost the accent. He passed away the year they were crowned champions - 2014. ( I told him they wouldn't win it, us winning didn't ease the pain of his loss.
