Arsenal thread | 2025/26

Hey I like Foden and want him to do well. He did ok when he came on. O'Reilly was superb all match however.
Mate, it’s probably best you leave the comparisons to us until your team have actually won a PL title under Arteta. My own view is that the only member of your squad that would get anywhere near ours is your set piece coach and his tactics wouldn’t work for us as we would get penalised every time. Just a lapse of judgement mate and most unlike you.

Calafiori and Saliba would be handy back ups for our defence. Same for Rice. None of them would get into our strongest XI.

Like I said it was opinion. And BTW I didn't mean Haaland would be the only City player in a combined XI I meant he'd be the only one that was so obviously better than his Arsenal counterpart that it's a no-brainer whereas for other players it is a tighter call.

That being said in your list you are essentially saying Doku is better than Eze (ok that's possible) and Nunes is better than Timber (I'm sorry but in no way is that possible!). The rest is a matter of opinion but I'd not be disappointed if those players played for us.
Genuine question who have Arsenal got that is better than Foden? Please don't say Odegaard who has never turned up for a big match yet.

Gabriel supposedly off injured and calafiori sent home, they have more than enough cover but that's a blow for Arsenal if they don't both miraculously recover and start their next game like usual.

It wasn’t the length of the pass; it was the accuracy of it.

Eze hit it perfectly, because it was exactly where it needed to be, in order for Eze to hit it perfectly.
Sorry mate but calling Eze's finish easy because of a relatively simple but perfectly weighted lay off from Foden is a bit much. The perfect set up certainly aided him but that was a superb finish

Calafiori is a decent player but you have O'Reilly who looks quality so not really a need for him. Rice doesn't get in if Rodri is back at peak. Re Saliba, not only does he get into your side but his understudy Mosquera also would, and then if Mosquera got injured then the other replacement Hincapie also does. All 3 would walk in ahead of Stones. I really like Gvardiol so I exclude Mosquera/Hincapie comparisons with him although I think Saliba is better. All IMHO of course.

Where did I say it was an easy finish?

I said Eze hit it perfectly.

Anyway very few Arsenal fans have negativity for Foden, maybe a few cretins on Twitter. It's only Haaland and Kovacic that any Gooners would get hot under the collar about and that's not at the level of VvD, Romero, Joelinton etc.

Realistically they are ahead of us in the league and finished ahead of us last season.
I reckon we have a better manager ergo they almost certainly have players that would easily get into our squad and some in our starting team.
Personally I think most of their back four are at least equal to ours and some maybe better.
I would take Sakha at the drop of a hat for right wing. I think Rice would do a very good job in midfield and set pieces.
