Last Film You Saw

One Battle After Another. Great entertainment from start to finish. Best movie I think I've seen in a while.

The Choral is worth a watch. I hadn't realised it was an Alan Bennett story.

WW1 and the Ramsden Choral Society is missing a lot of its male voices, and the chorus master signs up. Next choice is Dr Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes) who had been working in Germany. They were going to perform Bach's St Matthew Passion but have to find a non-German composer. Lots of side-plots - some dealing with the dreaded telegram - but a lot of irreverence and insensitivity and crude humour. In the end they go for Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius (but some don't like that that was based on a Catholic text about purgatory). Not much of a spoiler but they adapt it so the main voices are a dying soldier and a nurse - and when the vicar says he doesn't believe in purgatory a soldier who's lost an arm launches into comparing No Man's Land with Purgatory. Ramsden is played by Saltaire.
The pub scene was filmed at my boozer in Halifax.

I thought it was very good, think they pretty much summed up the effect such a situation would have on people, although I do think the initial premise ie
missile from an unidentified source
, was a little weak.

In terms of the ending, I don't think they could have done anything other than that
Agreed. It wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed it. I suppose I wasn't sure what to expect from it. I reckon I'd find it a better watch on a second viewing.

When the and old film 1989

Leviathan

Must of missed the film never saw it before, I like these type of under water films. Peter Weller Meg foster few more you recognise. 7/10 good afternoon film..

Underwater deep-sea miners encounter a Soviet wreck and bring back a dangerous cargo to their base on the ocean floor with horrifying results. The crew of the mining base must fight to survive against a genetic mutation that hunts them down one by one.

A little watched film in the background called "Code 3" really got my attention today.

It's, pretty much, a consolidation of what paramedics in busy cities go through. It stars Rainn Wilson (it's been a while) and a bunch of other semi-well known comedians, so I expected it to be a comedy.

Somehow, it separates itself from 'medical dramas' on TV and so, in my opinion, it hits harder. Probably because I've not seen a trailer or even heard of it before, that it hit like a gut punch how angry the core of this is.

The subject matter of this very dark comedy outweighs the super difficult box to put it in.

Really appreciated, more than 'enjoyed' it.

Needed a bit of cheering up today so watched Rocky 4 Rocky vs Drago version, much better than the original hard to believe it’s 39 years since the original came out, I remember queuing in the snow to watch it. 8/10

Great soundtrack in Rocky Ivee

Watched Jurassic World Rebirth. Was not too bad as an easy watch story when you pay £2.99 to watch it. However, the ridiculousness was comedic. Dinosaurs were changing size from scene to cut scene. The crazy thing was that CGI has somehow managed to go backwards in 30 years?
