Whatever his tactics are they aren’t working. A back three and Stones in midfield isn’t working. Rice is too far forward and persistently offside. Eze is a lovely player but at times is a slouch. No creativity from the midfield, Wharton & Stones are not a great combination, Bellingham is busy but not done much. Very frustrating first half.

It’s not the game to try Stones moving into midfield. That should have been at Wembley on Thursday.

watching rice just proves how good Rodri is he doesn’t have to have players playing behind him to have a effect going forward he can do that on his own it’s about choosing the moments something not just rice but no one else can do
