27 | Matheus Nunes - 2025/26

It doesnt hurt at all. What annoys me is every positive is Peps doing , when it doesn't work its someones elses , never peps fault. Rico was his first choice at RB . He stubbornly stuck with him too.
Nothing wrong with developing Lewis - one of our academy players. Pep used to get criticised for not using youngsters - you’re criticising Pep for using & developing them. It’s worked with Nico O’Reilly & Lewis is playing for England.

Nice one Pep? It took him long enough to admit his choice of Rico Lewis at RB was suicidal. Nunes was his back up.
Can’t believe your stance As I have already posted

Remember when you wanted Pep fired 6 months before the treble because he was done and would never win anything again?

I do.

He's no RB though. I think he's a fine player just not in that position.

Might have won it with a different manager too. No way of knowing. At least this season he's changed to a faster more exciting game and that's to be applauded. Despite all the success some of the football he's played would put you to sleep.

But that is nonsense isn’t it and more a reflection of the prism of how you view things.

We’ve had numerous comments on here how Pep didn’t get the best out of Jack Grealish, his style of play leaves us exposed at the back, he doesn’t play tactics to get the best out of Erling Haaland, style of play is too slow, he won’t buy a proper full back etc etc.

Really, as only two managers in English football have achieved this I doubt it very much. Anyway most City fans laud him for what he has achieved rather than try to slight his achievements based on hypotheticals. It’s a very strange take on things.

Objectively, that’s complete bollocks.

One of the most overused phrases on this forum is ‘This one’s on Pep’.

People think it makes them sound tough and uncompromising - exacting, and steadfast in holding the Club to the highest of standards.

Whereas in fact it makes them sound like they aren’t remotely capable of properly analysing the cause of any specific problems, and of grasping that the issues a a team comes up against are inevitably more nuanced and complex than taking a naive, simplistic, binary view that everything starts and stops with the Manager.

But whatever the truth - it’s absurd to claim no-one blames Pep when things go wrong.

The mindless over-reliance on ‘This one’s on Pep’ tells you exactly the opposite is true.

Ladies and Gentlemen

We have apparently bought ourselves a right back.. at 53 million in the 23-24 offseason.

We just needed to open the package!
A bit of an expensive right back if you ask me :) . And it took him a little longer than usual to develop.

But hey! he is here now.... :)
