Reminds me of an old school colleague of mine.

This was well before social media of course, probably five or six years after last seeing him, when we'd left our fairly prestigious grammar school.

As we were walking into Debenhams near Christmas, he held the door open for me, wearing a white coat and pushing a trolley load of goods towards a lorry. This surprised me, because he'd had an Oxford place to look forward to.

No wonder he didn't have time to talk - it turned out that that was his MO - masquerading as an assistant and swanning into busy department stores before loading up his trolley and - whistling all the time - chucking it onto the lorry and taking off!

Only learned this when reading about him after he'd been caught and sent to Winchester for a stay at Her Majesty's Pleasure.

Probably either dead in a ditch or living a life of luxury by now...

Or a Tory shadow minister…

Wow. My gran used to live on Yew Tree Rd so we were always in there, usually fishing with our nets in the lake or pottering around Pet's Corner. I've not been there for 55 years or so. That picture made me feel quite nostalgic.
