Eni Aluko

Lucy Bronze is still playing. I think the awards have historically gone to players who have retired. Aluko is a deserving recipient for her playing career. Over 100 caps for her country and 33 goals is no mean feat.

The 100 club isn't exactly exclusive in the England women's team, awards aren't that important if everyone gets to win one either.

13th most caps and 7th most goals for England. Went to 3 world cups and 3 Euros.

Also she played most of her career before the 2015 world cup and 2017 Euros which expanded the number of fixtures played significantly. They used to play about 10 games a year on average and now regularly do ~20, so getting 100 before that was more significant.

Can't imagine many people involved in women's football disagree with her being there.

I said the 100 games isn't that exclusive and that's correct, couldn't care less if she was nominated for the Nobel prize really.

Her achievements as a player are rightly being recognized with her induction into the HOF.

I personally don't think that she is right for punditry work, she comes across as being nervous, too serious and like she dosen't enjoy it. I also don't think that she has a lot of knowledge on the game. When you compare her to other presenters (Laura Woods, Emma Paton on the darts) they know the game inside out and it shows.

IMO she would be more suited as a Sky Sports News presenter, reading of an auto cue and not putting her self up for ridicule on live TV.

Pretty much agree with this. Not a massive follower of the women's game in general (certainly not outside of City), but apparently she was a very good player. But as a pundit, she's not very good. As you said, she comes across to me as being not at ease in front of the cameras. I don't blame, I'd be a bumbling wreck (what do you mean, I already am?) Maybe go back to what she studied at university (first class degree in law). Clearly a very clever lady.
