This is where pep needs to earn his money as he is lauded when we win . The club knew they were injury prone. Pep picked the same team and formation that demolished Liverpool, who have a big strong midfield.
The issue yesterday was Howe playing a 4-5-1 (then a 5-4-1 at 2-1), and we did not have the mettle or bodies to compete with their ankle snappers.
We were second in every challenge and not interested in any 50-50s. That got the crowd up for it, got their energy and emotions up, and we were rolled over through the middle of the park.
To be quite honest, we gave the ball away more often than I’ve seen in forever, partly because of their aggressive 6 man press, and Gigi seemingly doesn’t know when to hoof it down the channel for Erling to run onto or challenge for.
It was a hard game against a good team who played their Cup Final. Even Barnes said it was their best performance of the season!

I would like to think winning 72% of the 1000 games he has managed, is a good indication that "winning machine" is an accurate description. Rather than the "massive" sample size of losing 4 of 12 PL matches this season.Some “winning machine” this.
