Will we win the league this season?

No.

You’re still predicting the outcome.

I’ll do what you are doing.

Arsenal have every chance of getting result at Chelsea, be it a win or a draw.

Ideally a win would be better for Arsenal, as it would probably finish Chelsea’s title hopes off. 9 points behind. A draw wouldn’t be a bad result either, keeping the current 6 point gap between Arsenal and Chelsea.
Ok so can we just not make predictions on any matches now?

Nail head - we're still very much a work in progress, and short a player or two.
Knock out competitions is where we need to be concentrating - ensuring we get CL football for next season.
It sounds defeatist, but it's also realism as it stands
You are probably right but it's a long old season and we could click into gear after Christmas. If we are still in touching distance come late February who knows what will happen.

Need more positivity like this.

People don’t realise just how much pressure Arsenal are going to be under to get this title won. It’s our job to try and ensure they feel as much of it as possible.

Not a chance, I was optimistic after the dippers win but in fairness that was more about them being poor this season than us being great. Our away form is poor, we play for half an hour then switch off. Yes we got some shit decisions yesterday but in all honesty we were poor, but that’s another thread.

There's always a reasonable hope. Rodri back to near best by mid January and Reijnders fitting in much better with him in the side. Our defence will also improve with a revived Rodri. Not over yet .

The results this weekend sum up our chances. Scousers and Arsenal won at the Toon, we buckled. Even Forest beat Scousers 3 nil do our win not that impressive. And worst of all a spurs team which schooled us at home got battered by the title leaders.

In 2011-12 we were 8 points behind United with only 6 games remaining and yet still won the PL

However, we were undoubtedly the better team and if it wasn't for nerves and refereeing decisions (that 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge still makes we want to punch innocent bystanders) then we would have been Champions with a couple of games to spare.

This season feels similar and yet completely different, as Arsenal might suffer as we did, and yet both mentally and physically they look considerably stronger.

I've not given up, but a lot needs to happen

Why is us beating Liverpool at home not considered impressive but Arsenal defeating Spurs at the emirates (which they always do) considered so?

Arsenal ‘the bucklers’ dropped points away at Sunderland so if we go to their place and get the win they would have only taken one more point from the north east than we have?

I don't think this weekends results make me feel its more or less likley than it was before the international break.

It seems niave to swing wildy optimistic or pessimistic based on week to week results. Arsenal and Chelsea look good but the points gaps aren't significant at this stage and weve scored as many as arsenal and (on paper) have the joint best attack and 3rd best defence in the league so far.

Long way to go yet

I think this thread needs to be split in two. One for the bedwetters prepared to concede a title not even a third of the way into the season.

And another for those of us prepared to knuckle down for a fight and not let or emotions completely sway on depending on each weeks results.

We have a lot of tough away games in the second half of the season. Arsenal has played most of them away and somehow only lost 1. Our perennial losses at Anfield and Spurs make me highly doubt we win this time.

Ok let me clarify to make it more acceptable for you. It is highly likely Arsenal WONT win at Stamford bridge and it is highly likely that we WILL defeat Leeds at the Etihad.

Better?
On what basis are you thinking Arsenal winning at Chelsea is highly unlikely? If anything it's quite likely they would.

We have a very impressive recent record at spurs plus if we are in the hunt they’ll roll over

Because Chelsea actually aren’t that bad a football team and are in form and have players that can hurt Arsenal

Can easily see it ending in a draw.

Nobody is saying you can’t make predictions, but at least make it a balanced prediction.

As above in your last post.

‘They won’t win at Stamford bridge’

Yo’ve basically dismissed Arsenal’s chances of getting a result at Chelsea, be it a draw or a win.

With the way Arsenal are playing, you can’t predict that for definite.

As another poster pointed out to you, Sunderland beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago.

Anything is possible in a match. Forest beat Liverpool 0-3 at Anfield yesterday. The vast majority of people would have predicted a Liverpool home win, even though Liverpool aren’t playing well atm.

And Arsenal dropped points at Sunderland.

So would it have been wrong of me to say before that match that Arsenal won’t drop points at Sunderland?

How many City players would get in the Arsenal team.? I can't get past one.
