Most of these lads have barely kicked a ball all season. Some of that’s down to injury and circumstances, but we’ve also been too dependent on the same players for weeks now so shouldn’t expect the ‘stiffs’ to suddenly perform en masse. We need to keep playing them tonight and get minutes into legs.

We need to win the game. If these lads second team lads want game time they need to earn it off the bench. That's the oldest rule of squads in football.

Additional thoughts. Marmoush is all over the place giving us no focal point in attack.

Lewis is playing the number 8 role like an out of position right-back. I know he's not, but he just isn't having any impact.

Khusanov is sometimes dropping at the same time Ake/Stones push out. Needs to be careful.

Ait-Nouri is continuously too far upfield and has no recovery pace.
