The Leverkusen experiment was an act of arrogance from Pep that had little chance of success. You do not take liberties like that and disrespect the fans, players and football club. However Pep is loved and will be forgiven.
Amidst the recrimination, some positive and negative traits are emerging in our season. We should take the opportunity to reset and move forward having learned lessons over the course of the season that are both good and bad.
GOOD
a) the continued development of O'Reilly. He is an important player for City. I love the way he glides out of defence. Might O'Reilly play further forward? Perhaps left back is his place because it allows him space to run with the ball at his feet. If he played in midfield, he'd have to take the ball under pressure, and pass. It's a different skill-set. I would like to see Pep experiment with O'Reilly. Leverkusen would have been the perfect opportunity in a strong side. But there will be other games, and O'Reilly has time on his side.
b) Is it time to restore Stones to the Premier League side? Almost all our starting Xi vs Leverkusen shrunk from the challenge but Stones didn't. He started to stride forwards and assert himself. He looked like the old Stones and I hope Pep plays him in the Premier League and gives him more responsibility. I don't think I'd play him against Leeds though as he has played a lot of football recently.
BAD
c) Haaland created mayhem when he came on. He didn't score but he looked like he might. However, Marmoush did nothing. He didn't even look like scoring. City need to work on finding goals from players other than Haaland. We've been playing Savinho mainly on the right for 2 seasons waiting for him to develop but it's not working. A fan-writer recently wrote on the BBC that "some fans can't stand the sight of him". Pep needs to realise that this experiment is not going to work and find some other formulation for the right hand side.

I think we are going to destroy Leeds. They are a very physical side but I am expecting a big win.
