City won the League Cup in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2022. As much as I hope we win the WSL, I would be happy if we get to win any trophy in the first year of the new coach. I am guessing Chelsea, Arsenal, and United are not included in the group stage because they ended up top 3 in last seasons’s WSL.

Full draw:
Group A: Nottingham Forest, Everton, Manchester City, Newcastle United
Group B: Sheffield United, Sunderland, Durham, Liverpool
Group C: Portsmouth, Charlton, Brighton, West Ham, Southampton
Group D: Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town, London City Lionesses
Group E: Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Tottenham Hotspur, Bristol City

Teams from the Champions League automatically get a bye past the group stage of this competition. Ragettes could still feature if they fail to get past the qualifying round for the CL proper. They will be placed in one of the 2 Northern groups if they are eliminated.

Thank you. Now I remember that what happened last year.

Just seen some clips of that shambles of a draw last night. If the powers that be want the Womens game to advance and be taken seriously, then act seriously. I can think of a fair few grass roots girls/womens team in the North West - my daughter played in the system for 5 years - who couldve provided coaches/players to do the draw in a much more professional fashion than that shitshow they put on. Must be my age but apparently its all about vibes, content and engagement now.

In short, if you act like a fucki*g idiot or say something utterly stupid youll get more people to watch/engage, regardless of how embarrassing it actually is.

I thought that Enni Aluko was bad as a pundit (which she is), but I just watched footage of that draw on 'x'. Christ almighty. They want women's football to be taken seriously, then they do that.

As a side question; "social influencers", just what is the point of them? They serve no purpose, and they've never done a hard day's graft in their life.

League Cup QF West Ham v City 20/21 December 2025

If we get past West Ham (which we should) then were going to have to hope Chelsea put out a second string in the Semi FInal. They seem to be our nemesis at the moment. We can beat them but were going to have to be right on it and hope they have an off day. Hoping Bunny has finally put her boots on the correct feet as her finishing has of late has been as if they were indeed on the wrong feet whilst her head has been as reliable as ever.

Although we've won 9 or more on the trot now since that opening day reverse against Chelsea we've still not been very fluid in most games. Hoping Hempos return is a big positive and I still want to see either Yui at 8 and Lohman at 6 or Yui at 6 and LBB at 8, Rose and Greenwood (Knaack whilst Alex is injured) CH's with Kirsten and Leila/Layzell full backs, Viv at 10 with Bunny in front Hempo/Kerolin and Iman/Aoba wide with all coming inside when necessary. I think thats our best set up with Yamashita in net.

I've just watched it.... absolutely gobsmacked. I genuinely thought it was a joke at first and it was a couple of influencers taking the piss pretending to do the draw.

Not only the way they were acting but she had the bag wide open and could see the numbers, a lot of the time it looked like she already had a ball in her hand...

Whoever signed that off is getting their P45, surely?!

Revamp for next season with Champions League participants being excluded from the competition altogether instead of just bypassing the group stage.

Kind of makes sense with the 4 extra league games. Suspect that's the death knell for the competition.

On the plus side "if" we got past West Ham at least the semi-final would be at home and you cant ask for any more than that.

Realistically youd have to beat Cheslea at some point to win any pot so its better to play them at home rather than at their place, or on a neutral ground. No European footy for us this season so City really should be winning something domestically this season.
