True, but in this situation I reckon it would be a step too far. There would be riots all over the country if this wealthy non-tax payer was given free money to expand a business owned by an even wealthier family whose finances are shrouded in secrecy in some offshore account.
I think he and the Glazers know full well it is a pipe dream that is never going to happen, but if the gullible plastics are happy to keep funding that dream then they will continue to buy tickets, souvenir shirts and any other old tat the Yanks can churn out.

As much as I would want that to happen it wont. The younger generation havent got it in them.
Us FOC fought against Thatcher and her police as she destroyed our heavy industries, the poll tax, sold of all our infrastructure etc, our music was rebellious.
Nowadays its all woke no one has any fight in them.

I honestly believe us tax payers will pay for a new swamp and apart from a few moans in government nothing will stop it.

PS I hope I'm wrong.

You could be right, she single-handedly destroyed the livelihood of so many people during her despotic reign - so many working mens clubs, pubs and miners clubs shut down because of her policies I and many other musicians/singers etc lost money left right and centre - thanks to Tory policies.
It seems nowadays people are afraid to say anything that might ruffle a few feathers in case they upset somebody somewhere, so I see your point.

I think and sincerely hope you're right but with drifting freeloaders like Coe and their bought and paid for media shills such as the BBC relentlessly pushing the narrative I wouldn't rule anything out where this shitstain of a club is concerned.

Mate, if the government give them money there will be an avalanche of spin from them, from the Rags and all their shills. It will 100% be sold as an investment opportunity to a poor inner city area. They'll batter the stuff all the useful idiots buy into - regeneration, big stuff around carbon footprint, loads of trees being planted etc, etc.

All this work will be getting done right now by a group of management consultants.

If it happens there will absolutely be no demonstrations across the country. It will be sold as a success story.
