Will we win the league this season?

LOL, look at your comment and say you would have said the same if it was Arsenal needing a last minute winner at home to Leeds after 2 defeats in the last week.
How you come up with the answer title contenders from those 3 performances is quite staggering.
Newcastle away is one of the toughest fixtures in the league
Leverkusen isn’t the premier league
Leeds we didn’t played well but still showed character to get the winner

I don’t expect us to be playing poorly for the remainder of the season.

We couldn't get he ball off Leeds for a spell of about 15 minutes in the second half.

They won every defensive and midfield header and virtually every 50/50.

And we was at home!!!

We are miles away from challenging.

We've handed the scousers and Arsenal a PL each. Without even putting a serious challenge in.

The squad is done. We have 6 or 7 world class players. The rest are just making up the numbers.

3 for me.

Haaland, Donnarumma and Rodri

The bloke is the worst Arsenal supporter ever. Imagine cheering for the one team who could possibly deny you the title.
The one team that can deny Arsenal the title this season is Arsenal mate and if we don't win it then it's on us.

IMHO the reason I don't think City are in the race as it stands isn't because of how you are playing from a technical perspective - it's what appears to be a lack of hunger. You can say Newcastle away is a tough game - yes it is and title winners win their tough games. I've seen City this season and many times thought that the players don't seem to want to put that 100% effort in like a starving team - a lot of these guys have won a billion titles so maybe the motivation isn't there.

But until City get that 'over my dead body' mantra back they are at risk of losing 50/50 games - Palace away next week would be one such example.

City can of course get that hunger back but I've not seen it so far and it's not like a switch you can flip.

Everybody said the same at this time last season.
Again, I don't believe for one minute you would give any of our rivals that kind of leeway and would be writing them off.

The difference is our that rivals (with the exception of Liverpool) haven't been there and done it

You kept saying that the dippers would fade last season and it never happened.

With all due respect mate you have won zero trophies in 5 years. You’re a bit out of your depth talking about how a title race will unfold.

I'm basing it on watching City over the past 10 years or so. That relentless drive, the fight to get the result, a bit of spikiness in the middle and a bit of aggression (Rodri, Bernardo, KdB used to go up a level when the team needed it. Kompany before.). Yes I can't base it on Arsenal of the recent past, but am encouraged that I see some of those traits in the current team (don't forget Arteta uses those City sides as his benchmark for the squad). But I don't see those traits in much abundance from your current side. That may change of course.

So only fans of teams that have won something are qualified to talk about winning something?
Fuk that means every opinion I had form 1977-2011 is null and void, feel like a right prik now!

What does that matter when the teams that have been there and done it are flailing against midtable and relegation battling sides? Arsenal and Chelsea have made smart moves the last couple transfer windows and don't have the injury issues we do. Any talk of challenging for a title at this point is wildly optimistic considering the level of performance we're seeing.

I would be aiming to get into the 80 odd point mark, have a good run in the cups and see if we can make QF CL.

Winning the league cup for mentality will be huge.

Aim to build the defensive structure of the team like Mancini did in 2010/11, have a good summer window and aim to smash it next season.

Our only chance is Rodri returning to peak fitness which will increase our possession stats and thus limit our obvious weaknesses being exposed

Arsenal might drop a few points, but can we stop this factually incorrect"City have been there-done that" bollocks when 4 of today's starting XI have never won the PL and another couple were only peripheral squad players in 23/24.

In addition, today's subs, Marmoush and Cherki are both talented, but similarly irrelevant in any conversation about our team being more experienced

Realistically, from our regulars, only Dias, Gvardiol, Foden Bernardo and Haaland contributed to our last PL whilst Nunes and Doku both got medals.

Early days my friend. Let’s just wait and see how the season pans out
