9 | Erling Haaland - 2025/26

A real conundrum as he's either the best in the world or non existent, today was the latter although his team mates didnt help matters.
His body language can be awful or he can be an absolute warrior.......strange, maybe it's a confidence thing.

That’s arguably the worst individual performance I’ve seen from a City player.

Especially the context of him being at home to Leeds.

Not involved. Sulking around the pitch, not putting himself about, hiding behind defenders, not pressing and not doing anything. Genuinely ridiculous and very, very poor. Pep went straight to speak to him after the game and I hope it was a bollocking.

I hope the usual pattern of a flying start then a subpar remainder isn’t happening again with him.

Arguably in that if anyone was to argue you would lose? He was at the back defending and clearing crosses in the 70+ minute. I hope the usual performance of him averaging 42 (FORTY TWO!) goals a season is happening again.

Good performance by him today then, in your opinion?

He was gash. It’s OK to admit that.

Yes, maybe my comment on goals is a bit ill-tempered but performances like today really get under my skin.

Mainly because of the way he was quite obviously pissed off and rather channeling that into working hard and making himself a nuisance, he strolled about with his head down.

He was poor today, there's no two ways about it. The team is struggling, and without cherki on the pitch I do wonder if he's back to thinking, when will I get a through ball again! He defended with energy and occasionally held the ball up well. I'll forgive you the I'll tempered comment, happens to us all.

I disagree. He did a lot today and opened up all that space through the middle in the first half due to his movement and occupation of their defence. I do agree that Cherki seems to be the only person in our team that is capable of feeding him though.

That's football innit. You saw good stuff, I saw poor but some energy and skillman thought it was the worst performance ever seen in a Manchester city shirt, (which would take some going!!)

We can all surely agree he needs to know the ball might be coming to keep him completely energised?

I know Foden has somehow managed to take the plaudits today due to what he did towards the end but there was a moment in the first half where Haaland drew both their centre backs and their left back on him and Foden tried to give the ball to him when Doku was crying for the ball in complete open space and the game would have been put to bed.

He has to and he can improve a lot with his pressing off the ball. He was just jogging around most of the time today, yes he is a big guy and he won´t be no Alvarez pressing defenders ,but he can definetly try harder.

I'm gonna check that out but my instincts are you have confidence in dokus finishing that isn't based in reality ;)

Looked off it, pretty spiritless. Don't want to get on his back too much after the season he had for us so far. Others also need to step up when the big lad's not at his best.

Foden played one to him in the second half that was just a tad too strong and went across Haaland’s body and onto his right foot. He was unable to control it and the chance was gone.
