Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

I had a season card from when we moved to the COMS/Etihad and gave it up at the end of last season
I was given a ticket for lower tier of the north stand for the game today, near the east stand corner
I have to say that since the takeover I don't think the whole experience has been as bad as it was today
Hundreds turning up late, including a huge party of school kids
A really crap atmosphere and it seemed no one around me was happy until they were heading to and from a food concession
Leeds were about to take their penalty, a moment of real jeopardy, and two rows in front a woman was moving people out of the way holding two trays of chips
It really didn't feel like i was at a top level football match

Was odd, as normally boos when taking the opposition taking a penalty.

It was awful. Really bad. There were about three occasions where the two singing areas sang the same song and it spread around until the goal.

SS1 and Kippax corner could compete a lot better if they were together. Even more so if they were higher up.
Fair enough, I was at the back of 016 today so didn't get my usual perspective of the atmosphere from 131.

Every problem we currently have could be solved by getting singers into the new North Stand, yet that's the one thing that many are against.

It honestly amazes me the amount of people that are content with our current shambles of a singing section, and are willing to let this golden opportunity go to waste

They have literally offered our most vocal fan group the opportunity to be anchor tenants in the brand new 1 tier standing section, what more do you want them to do?
1894 threw their toys out of the pram when the club didn't adhere to every single one of their "red lines".

Today was miserable. Admittedly the atmosphere picked up when they got back into the game. The first half was the quietest I remember.

The people in the stadium are just strange. The guy sat next to me spent the second half watching Bayern Munich on his phone (celebrating when they scored). Half and half scarves everywhere. Leeds fans (celebrating goals). Regulars leaving on 80 minutes (missing 20 mins of football - it’s Saturday 3pm KO - why leave early)?

It’s just not an enjoyable experience for me anymore. When the North Stand opens and the club are absolutely desperate to get their ROI it’s going to be even worth. Can see more proper blues dropping off in the summer and the cycle of decay continuing!

Agree with most of that, and the half and half sellers were hijacking people on the platform as people get off the tram today. However, remember the days of seats clattering when Sane went past players. It wasn’t the most exciting performance I’m afraid. Hopefully be home soon!!

Been a lot worse this season, today was abysmal, the club have gutted the fan base and seemingly don't give a fuck.

The ticket policies are making it worse and worse.

There were about 14 seats empty on our row in our block today, probably hospitality tickets, so I'm glad they were empty. Gutted for the fans that were there once and have been priced out though.

I’m the same mate. I’m really not enjoying it this season. I don’t feel like I’m at a city match anymore. Atmosphere, whether that’s singing, shouting or abusing the opposition is a big part of the game for me and honestly today was one of the worst atmospheres I can remember. It was like being at Disneyland.

No one seemed arsed about the game at all and in my block lots of people who were more bothered about getting their photo taken.

All this success has been great, but it does make me think what’s the point when the core of our fanbase is gradually been pushed out. What’s daft is we don’t even have the tourists or corporate fans to fill the ground either, so we end up having to give boat loads of tickets to schools or corporate sponsors - they’re usually then filled with people who don’t support us or we have a load of empty seats.

Wait til the north stand opens.. I can only see it getting worse

Was fully expecting a decent atmosphere today but it never quite materialised.

The pedestrian football, and desperation to control/slow play down doesn’t give you much as a fanbase to get your teeth into and ticket policies have changed the dynamic within the stadium. Add the fact many are disenchanted with the clubs policies it’s not a great recipe.

Is this a library? Yes.
Where's the famous atmosphere? It's there, somewhere.
Will we moan about the decreasing volume? Definitely.

It is embarrassing and sapping at times. Less people are joining in and there are a few who love to shout Munich in the Zaba song, more than the song itself.

Think we need our identity put under review. There was more optimism following City under Psycho than a club un 2nd place.
So you preferred the days under Pearce did you? You are not fooling anyone here.

Stop it!

You keep on blaming 1894 for everything.

You really are tiresome.

Do something yourself instead of constantly criticizing 1894, who have done more than you will ever do.

It's easy to criticize from a far, and when you don't don't do anything yourself.

It’s ok you don’t have to go any more. It’s not compulsory. Lots of people on here have stopped going. They keep telling us how shit the club is. But that’s fine it’s a free world. You can always go shopping instead. Supporting City is a personal choice.

Like everyone else I love Pep, and I will always thank him for the trophies he has won for City, but his current walking football is tiresome and boring. It isn't exciting. It totally kills the atmosphere, bar after goals for a few minutes.

You must have been gutted when Phil scored that brilliant last minute winner…or were you too busy watching the crowd and feeling miserable.

It was very poor today.
How many supporters clubs do we have a hundred possibly more so why isn't someone from the club or someone like Kevin Parker getting round the supporters clubs and encouraging better vocal support I recall the game against stoke years ago under Joe Royle and the ground and support galvanised the team we all need to make an effort simple

What’s obvious to me is that a lot of fans are stopping attending because of the lack of atmosphere. Branding the new stand as “The New Kippax, pushing it hard as an atmosphere end and offering very cheap tickets would pay for itself with an upturn in demand.

Half price season tickets for anyone in the existing safe standing areas to relocate would be a good starting point. Some sort of reassurance that ticket prices will never exceed the south stand. Work down the loyalty points if necessary but some sort of system where groups can move would be even better. Use it as a loss leader. They can sell the seats made available through this however they want but the new stand should be in effect reserved for working class old school fans. When we moved to the Etihad we added 15,000 to the gate immediately. The same happened with West Ham, spurs and Everton more recently.

It can be done but they need to get their arses in gear.
