So, someone has to be the top 3 in their position to wish a happy birthday or reminisce on? Barry above him, lol, NdJ was a huge player for us and a big part of our success for those 3/4 years. Always gave his all, never made as much as a peep, boosted City with his Dutch performances in the World Cup, where he played in the final ffs, then came in 3rd the next time. OTT, shaking my headI think I’m probably in the minority, but I think that gushing tribute is a tad OTT. he was a good player for us, no doubt, but he wouldn’t lay a glove on Fern, Yaya or Rodri. I would place Barry above him also.
Barry was picked ahead of him, that is why he left. So, someone has to be the top 3 in their position to wish a happy birthday or reminisce on? Played in the world cup final ? Way out of his depth and proved it with the challenge that should've seen him walk. So, someone has to be the top 3 in their position to wish a happy birthday or reminisce on? Right guy, right time. The opposition had to look over their shoulders when he played. Same with Gerry.
I can still remember shouting “it’s gotta go Nigel, it’s gotta fucking go” when he spent what seemed ages picking out that forward pass.Played in the world cup final ? Way out of his depth and proved it with the challenge that should've seen him walk.
Still, he was decent enough for us, at times. Not someone to hold back but didn't really offer a lot more his strength in a challenge. Saying that he did begin the move which saw Sergio snatch us the title v QPR.
Gow ;-)Creaney?
That name brings shivers down my back !Right guy, right time. The opposition had to look over their shoulders when he played. Same with Gerry.
