City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

It’s ok after he recovers they’ll arrange a nice free hospitality/corperate game for him and his family ..
Leeds probably will for the return fixture!

And yes, that’s harsh on City in some ways because there are times when they do things that are worthy of praise, such as the way they stepped up when Guy Bradshaw passed away in Benidorm recently. But that’s what’s so frustrating really - they can do the right thing on that occasion but then put out that abomination of a tweet yesterday.

Hope you are fully recovered from that mate.
That is truly shameful.

Thanks. The funny thing is my loyalty to the club meant pursuing legal action never entered my head, even though I knew i probably had a good case. It was only when they didn't take what happened to me seriously, then never contacted me when they said they would after the return leg in Seville that i got angry and did so. Looking back now and after Saturdays incident, it proves even though we are all members of society, some of us with very responsible lives and occupations, once we step foot inside a football ground we are classed as lesser hunan beings, the dregs of society to be fucked around and fobbed off. They'll still take our money through.

Very true mate.

Thanks to all the fan groups for asking me to pass on their regards and offers of help.

Does anyone have Danny Wilson’s email please? just so I can check the address my mate has emailed.

I'd probably have done the same.

I don't blame you one bit. So they should challenged legally. The contempt they have for is obvious from your experience alone.

Makes me consider how long I want to put up with it even after 45 years. Total disgrace that you should be treated like that and that they have such a negative outlook on fans.

The buck stops with Billy Bullshitter and Soriano, so many people are duped by the end of season review, sycophants R us. They treat the traditional support like shit, short term thinking and and the awful match day expertise, F them.
Getting away fans out of our end isn’t the first priority here

The most important thing is to get Soriano out of our club and Khaldoon if he’s on board with Soriano’s shite and if it comes to it the Sheikh if necessary.

Fuck them and their money, they’re stealing our club from us. We were happy before they came and we’ll be happy after they’ve gone and taken half a ground of half and half plastic twats with them .

"However eye witness accounts suggest Leeds fans were involved using season cards belonging to City supporters"

Could this potentially explain why City originally thought they weren't Leeds fans?
You have a number of options available to you to resolve this ongoing issue I suggest you contact all the chairman of the city supporters clubs and ask for there support this is a blatant health and safety issue we all know they are selling tickets to ticket agencies it needs to stop even in the corporate areas because as we all know it kicked off in the legends suite my next suggestion is to contact the chief constable of greater Manchester police and inform him off the ongoing problems and we all know the galatasary game will see numbers of there fans in the home areas of the ground it's not just a city problem look at the videos of rangers fans in the home areas at old trafford ....somebody is going to get seriously hurt .....it's time to get people of a higher authority involved

Oh i did. They settled out of court after putting me through four more years of stress and their solicitors calling me a liar and trying to imply i was pissed when i wasn't.
Sorry to hear that, what a shit show from the club they knew they were in the wrong and yet tried to apportion the blame on to you..Glad you eventually got compensation for the initial injury, never mind the stress of the whole thing..

Cheers. Its been ten years now but it still sticks in the throat a bit.

Best wishes to the injured City fan. If I was him I'd be having a think about whether or not City have a duty of care....

And AI says.....
The key word in legal terms is 'forseeability'.

It's hardly rocket science to predict an incident like this, even without Leeds' well-documented history of violence.

Whether they'd ever sell you a ticket again is another matter, I suppose?

No way! Thought there might be a chance another one of us were on there. What a shit day/ night that was
The idiots shouldn't have arrested us. I think one lad got a fine and maybe a bit of community service, well worth the time and effort for arresting 50 and locking us all up for 9 or 10 hours. I think those 2 girls were minors as well, so will have needed treating differently than the rest of us.

People talking bollocks on twatter, there's a surprise.
we at 1894 weren’t talking bollocks at all we have been right all along with everything we have said about this incident. We also knew the club were gong to reach out to bluemoon before they even did because we have the proof in our phones. They were asking if there was any other contacts at Bluemoon other than Ric

Commenting purely on the standard of the social media response by the club and not the incident itself… but it’s amateur hour and I suspect questions will have been asked this morning.

“the injuries were nowhere near as serious as the inaccurate rumours which have circulated online”

The language and tone there is dreadful and not what you would expect from a comms professional.
Quite bizarre.
One thing is clear from the past decade.

City don't employ anyone who can be considered "professional" when it comes to any kind of comms or PR.

Hate to say it but that’s just about where I’m at now. Never thought I would be.

Good luck to Paul from all at 1894 and if the stewards would have done their job in the first place and removed the Leeds fans from the stadium at the first opportunity then we wouldn’t have had this tragic event

Just regarding Home seats for home fans only.
I am, via Mrs JASR, a member of Tickets for Troops website, where anybody can give free tickets for the use by serving/exserving armed forces. These tickets are for all sorts of sports, theatre, comedy etc.

The football tickets given away (by ballot) are fully labelled ‘HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY’ - this is for all men’s matches being given away, and even some of the women’s.

If free tickets given to a worthy charity are specifically labelled HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY, then paid ones should in no doubt be the same obligation.

Its not just football clubs its the way society in general view us, even though of course we are also part of that very same society. The years of football violence played a big part in that viewpoint of course, but even back then football fans were treated like dirt so it was no wonder many in turn couldn't care less how they behaved. If you keep getting pushed eventually you push back.

Football has changed drastically from the dark days of the seventies and eighties but sadly the attitude towards the fans hasn't kept pace.
