City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

Of course mate, it’s better if everyone gets on and fans in the wrong end are respectful.

FWIW, the injured Blue has been told his operation on his broken leg is on Wednesday or Friday (depending on which hospital operates). I think City are in no doubt there was a serious injury. I think the statement was based on out of date reports before the broken leg was confirmed

I’ve got nothing against Leeds fans in general. I went for a drink with three around town before the game and they went in their end for the game.

I would loved nothing more than everyone to come away from the game without injuries. I even tried to encourage the walking wounded guy to get first aid.

I think we just need to let the inquiries proceed now without loads more questions or conspiracies. The most important thing is the safety of fans going forward.
Agree 100% especially the last paragraph, as this thread reminds me of Jury Service and having to listen to 39 different versions of the same Bank Holiday brawl, involving 5 feisty neighbours, a girl in a wheelchair, a randy rottweiler and the Police turning up at the wrong house.

They were probably guilty but I was Foreman for the Jury and was in a good mood as Stuart Pearce had just been sacked.

Sounds like a cracking night out to be fair.

Haha police turning up at the wrong house deary me keystone cops probably kicked the door in and batoned anything that moved ..

It’s the younger generation I feel sorry for. I have teenage sons who went to their first game at the age of 2, season ticket holders since aged 4 & 6, absolutely City daft, as many aways as they can. They will grow up in an era of atmosphereless football, grounds full of half and half phone watchers and away fans sat next to them. There’ll be no Oldham away ladders for them, no 15k Blues away at sjoke for a new players debut, no 14k away fans for an fa cup quarter final, no dare I say swales out demos (or a modern day organised equivalent) just a plastic sanitised soulless stadium. Thank fuck I am 66 and a recent stroke sufferer and won’t have too many years of watching the erosion of our legacy fanbase and atmosphere, it’s not even a gradual erosion the changes over the last 18 months have been dramatic, I really feel for my lads and their continued “matchday experience”. I wouldn’t swap the old days for anything, even if I didn’t completely realise it at the time
66! Thought you were 21

You do realise that two of those arrested are City fans who jumped in to help out and have now been bailed until February and their season tickets suspended pending the outcome of the investigation. Others tried to spilt up those involved. Not everyone stood and watched
That’s their seasoncard gone.
I know lads who got arrested at the Liverpool game in February (Affray not assault)

Bailed to May

Released under investigation from May.
No time limit to the investigation which could take years.

10 months ago with no update so seasoncards taken away

City have banned them until the police close the case.

City are not taking any chance when it comes to disorder wether it’s self defence, being provoked, shouting nasty words or a bit of pushing & shoving (as per my mate at the Liverpool game)

We had another blue on here who got arrested at Brentford, won at court to get the football ban lifted but the club kept their ban so he lost his seasoncard

Bang on the money. The away games were brilliant then, huge followings, great togetherness, now we are considered legacy cunts
Oh my goodness I don’t half miss all those away games. Europe, Southampton Bournemouth, Newcastle, the length and breadth of the land. The camaraderie, the meeting like minded folk. Making new friends and even today seeing people and them calling hya EB as I get to the ground.
Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end. Etc etc.
Nostalgia rules!! ;-) :-)

If there's an issue you can always report it to the Premier League, if the club won't do anything - safeguarding@premierleague.com
Perhaps this is the only way to get the club to realise that fans are truly pissed off with way we are being treated ?
I presume the fans' and supporters' groups are aware of this - or is it just an empty vessel put in place by the Premier League, as a sop ?

I think, like a lot of things, nostalgia can very much romanticise our experience. I have fond memories of being a nipper in the late eighties and early nighties, sat down on the wall at the bottom of the Kippax corner, legs dangling through the perimeter fencing. I was in awe of the atmosphere and the buzz.

On the flip side, as I got older, I began to realise so much of the match-going experience was grim. Piss dribbling down the Kippax terrace because lazy cunts couldn't be arsed going to the bathroom (which were fucking rank anyway), getting chucked out away at Bradford because pissed up 'Blues' decided to start up the 'town full of p**kis' chant and I had the audacity to call them out and got in a brawl for my troubles.

A lot of the old-school supporter experience was mint, lots of it was wank.

Pretty much a microcosm of life and society.
Yeah of course there were bad bits but how often was piss dribbling down the Kippax steps? The Kippax bogs is another matter. As I said I wouldn’t swap it and I’m lucky to have experienced the old shit with comraderie but fuck all trophies as well as the new ground (which it always will be for me) with all the trophies. 2012 to 2023 was the perfect mix of trophies and legacy fans, 2023 to 2025 the decline has been steep. I think Leeds might prove to be a turning point for the execs and the fans, just not sure which way.

I'm not sure to be honest mate, I noticed it recently when doing a safeguarding course. There's also a number to call 0208 157 9000

This is City's safeguarding page - https://www.mancity.com/club/safeguarding

It has Ryan Greenhalgh - ryan.greenhalgh@mancity.com listed as Head of Safeguarding. I'm tempted to drop him an email with my concerns about taking our kids to a game with the threat of opposition fans kicking off in the home end.

Well said sir. Was it Dodge or prefer not to say? I haven’t met Dodge but he is clearly a top Blue and a top lad based on his posts in here. I was nearly done the same way at Brentford this season, steward pushed me so I reacted (verbally not physically) next thing there were another 3 stewards around me and it took my 16 year old son (first sensible thing he’s done in his life!) to pull me away or I was going to the same place as Dodge

Yes it was mate.
I didn’t know City had their own panel to decide wether to ban a fan.
I thought they took the advice of the police/courts who would have all the information of the incidents

City will happily leap to the defence of Leeds and Dippers fans.

Sadly we reside at the very bottom of the food chain.

In all honesty what do we think needs to change at the club with ticketing and the atmosphere. The club have clearly chosen the path of going down the third party sellers which a middle finger to Season Ticket Holders and Members who try and go to most matches throughout the season.

I understand the hard work City Matters and 1894 and other fan groups do behind the scenes to get the message across to the club for us.

But if the club want to do something like Viagogo they will do it no protest will stop them. I'm slowly losing all my faith with the club... Who thought watching Man City would be so hard.

I’ve emailed Ryan, will let you know if he replies.

The old guy with the bald head in the white coat was the one who head butted the City fan, in the melee they both went to the floor on the spilt beer, the City fan has the suspected broken leg from the fall to the floor
I heard the whack of the bloke hitting the floor. Didn't see anything before that.
Took the guy on the floor a couple of minutes to get up into a chair.
The white coat guy was bleeding after he got hit by a couple of people.
There was a long haired guy as well who seemed to throw the most punches

So much shit dumped on us the last couple of seasons but they are in trouble if they can’t keep the ground safe.

There is only one way to protest against people who are only interested in money. Stop giving it them. But no fanbase has cracked this over the years. No one wants to sacrifice going to matches.
Blackpool did to good affect
