But he isnt a winger like Doku who can both hold width and drift central.

He is RW on paper but just goes central.

And that's fine, but the issue of pairing him with Bernie and then making Bernie go wide is just not a good setup.

I dont know what the alternative is, perhaps a proper RW and Phil in Bernies spot but Pep doesnt trust the other RW options (other than Cherki who needs to be managed), and so is then forced to play Bernie and go wide.

It was uncharacteristic that he really botched a few passes but the conditions were awful and it might also be a consequence of him taking on more responsibility to create things. KDB would over/underhit passes a lot trying to make something happen, it’s just a consequence of trying to play the killer pass as quickly as possible and only needs to pay off a few time a match to win the game.
