It was fucking amazing !!That was one hell of a songbook tonight! Must have been 25 different songs belted out!
Great to hear that and some of us knew all the words. Our fans brilliant as usual. Was nice to hear the entirety of Boys in Blue getting sung
I was one of those who knew all the words and joined-in as loud as I was physically capable.Great to hear that and some of us knew all the words. Our fans brilliant as usual.
I agree. The Zab song after a goal does my head in. Still we do have an impressive songbook compared to most clubs. The Boys in Blue still works in 2025 and should get more airings. A typical City night though. I loved it.I was one of those who knew all the words and joined-in as loud as I was physically capable.
However I thought overall our support was a bit strange, and if anything, mirrored the players complacency and lack of focus
The bloke next to me fucked off to the bar at 2-0 and didn't return until 4-1. Fair enough but he was the one doing the most shouting about lack of concentration when it all started to go pear shaped
Donnarumma made a fantastic save at 1-0 to the backdrop of HE SCORED IN ISTANBUL, and even the VAR delay.for Fulham's.3rd (when it was obvious that the tide was turning and we really needed it to be disallowed) was serenaded with the Zabaleta song.
Lots of songs about Balotelli and the Toure brothers, but little to encourage O'Reilly, Nunes or Reijnders

We did sing it for a short while after the 4th goal, but then it went 5-1 and 5-2 and the mood shifted very quicklyWe need to get that foden chant going properly. He scores a goal and we don’t sing about him, which I find bizarre.
I’m hoping it gets going properly at the next few games. As you say it’s an original and it sounds class. We did sing it for a short while after the 4th goal, but then it went 5-1 and 5-2 and the mood shifted very quickly
At least we've got an original song for Foden which when compared to the lack of anything remotely original for virtually all his team mates is utterly ridiculous
Even the DONNARUMMA.BABY used to be about Ake
Is that just for your telly watching pleasure? Your suggestions are never going to be even looked at now. It's all too late. You cannot force people to sing or move to where singing takes place ...it's all been tried before and fails.Quote from @EastMidlandsBlue
Away games have really become a breath of fresh air for me. These days I seem to walk away from the Etihad feeling deflated, yet I walk away from away grounds with that buzz I used to get as a young adult watching City.

The atmosphere problem is generated by how the tickets go on sale.
Third-party agencies sweep up vast swathes of them when all matches go on sale before the season starts and sell them on at vast profit to tourists. I was sitting next to 4 well-healed Spanish guys for the Leeds game who, to be fair, were doing a bit of shouting for City but spoke no English. I dread to think what they would have paid for their seats.
The club is happy as they ensure the seats are sold as far as they’re concerned, but the atmosphere definitely suffers.
There are plenty of long-term fans who cannot commit to purchasing tickets at the start of the season but would like to go to games when they know they are able to attend nearer the time. The current system precludes them from doing so, as agencies will hang onto seats until the last minute, hoping for a profitable sale. This, plus a small number of season ticket holders who fail to resell through the club, explains the empties.
Hopefully, the new legislation coming into action, preventing the resale of seats at higher than face value, will put an end to this.
I hope the old system, where citizen card holders got access to purchase a few weeks before the games, will come back, and this will go a long way to ensuring the atmosphere improves and seats get filled.
The current system has to change.
Both spot on, seeing the game last night, you could hear the away fans singing, you struggle to do that at the Etihad because of the set-up of the stadium.
Why can't Manchester City executives see that we need all the vocal singing people in one stand? This creates a megaphone for the rest of the stadium.
This is why they need to sort out the North Stand and create a BLUE WALL, it works everywhere else - Kop-Liverpool, Holte End-Aston Villa- Yellow Wall-Dortmund.
Just now, the club executives are busy trying to shove more corporate area into the North Stand.
#saveournorthstand this is our last chance to create a better atmosphere at the Ehihad
It's not too late at all. City could take hold of this between now and the eginning of next season and make the new stand an atmosphere stand. Plenty of clubs have done that. It's basically a marketing exercise. Is that just for your telly watching pleasure? Your suggestions are never going to be even looked at now. It's all too late. It's not the 70's and 80's anymore.
Been there done that...it's a whole new world at football now.
3000 singers in the new stand would be amazing and like you say would help songs going right round the stadium. It's not too late at all. The atmsophere at away games like past night perfectly illustrates that City have plenty of vocal support. EVen if just the 3000 we get at away games were all togther it would massively improve the home atmosphere because it gives the ret of the stadium a lead to follow.
That is literally all that is needed to rejuvinate the atmosphere. It wouldn't be hard if the club had a will.3000 singers in the new stand would be amazing and like you say would help songs going right round the stadium.
We shall wait and see.............That is literally all that is needed to rejuvinate the atmosphere. It wouldn't be hard if the club had a will.
The problem on that side of the stadium is that it is 3 small groups who can't hear each other. The way to get them all moving would be to incentivise it with a marketing camapaign and a financial sweetener. We shall wait and see.............
Getting that away day involvement replicated at home will be nigh on impossible though as its so many supporters clubs etc together in one place at aways. Not NEW fans generally.
We have already got 111, 110 and SS and how will you get all them moving? I for one want to stay near away fans as it gives you more incentive for rivalry right next to them.
Where are you lot now? Why not join in with us?
not knocking your wishes but I have little faith in any of it actually happening .The problem on that side of the stadium is that it is 3 small groups who can't hear each other. The way to get them all moving would be to incentivise it with a marketing camapaign and a financial sweetener.
They don't seem to be which is going to ruin the last chance of a decent atmosphere in the Etihad for all but the biggest games.not knocking your wishes but I have little faith in any of it actually happening .
I'd love nothing better than the AWAY singing and ballooning experience replicated at home.
Are the club engaging with this marketing campaign?
I still won't be moving to the North Stand though, along with many others.
I think the new north stand needs to be the home stand and be called “the wonder wall “Quote from @EastMidlandsBlue
