He got injured this season vs Villareal in the CL.

CWC was just a minor thing. The hamstring vs Villareal is a major injury!
Well that can't be since he didn't play against Villarreal, do you mean Brentford ?

Err yeah, you're right.

I was pretty sure we saw him a few times earlier this season so the CWC injury wasn't a big deal.

But Arsenal ruined his career!

It's like Colin Bell all over again.. the Rags defenders tackle ruined his career and he was never the same player again!

Apologies, I didn't realize that forgetting a question mark would inadvertently shove a stick up your arse
You misunderstood - nothing to do with any question mark.
I thought it was humourous that I'd done a long post about the medical aspect earlier and you corrected my view with a bluntness that was almost poetic - tragically short, but, to the point.
I'll keep the irony to myself in future when you're around.

This is sort of what is happening right now in my opinion. He's not injured he was training weeks ago.

I don't think we've given him such an explicit ultimatum, but I don't think either City or Rodri want to risk another long term setback while he's in contract limbo and if Rodri wants Madrid he needs to be healthy and if we want 100 million we need him healthy aswell.

I've had a bad feeling since Carvajal said he'd spent the entire rehab period working on Rodri to sign for Real.

I don't hold it against him. We haven't signed the players to keep him happy and match his ambition and we've shown we'll risk his health for short term gain by playing him back to back in the CWC and 3 games in a week. Both of which resulted in setbacks.
But je has control of when to play

At this point im not fussed either way. He is off a terrible injury and heading into his 30s. I think we might well be past prime Rodri.

Hed still be very good but i don't expect Balon Dor Rodri to ever return.

I hope you’re wrong, but fear you might be closer to the truth than any of us would like.

imagine if he'd been parachuted back in for a start at the Cottage last night, he would be on long-term sick with shellshock as of full time.

The game would have been over by the time he came off, it would have been 0-6.

I thought the pace of the game and Fulham's intensity would have been too much for him returning. Though i concede his presence should have taken away some of that intensity.

Obviously his fitness is shrouded in mystery a tad, I wonder which game is being eyed up as a return? Brentford at home in the League Cup?

Whats happening with him? Is he training?
For weeks… he just says he doesn’t feel right yet if I understand correctly. I think City are being very cautious and maybe over protective. When he comes back this time they don’t want to risk anything.

It’s been so long that you start to get conspiracy theories but he will pick up injuries in other areas for a bit. Mentally the player must be able to trust that the knee is fine because if they go in half heartedly that’s when they can get injured again.

It’s 14 months since his injury. No info on when he’s coming back. Not anywhere near the bench. He can’t get an extension without proving his fitness (no clue how Savio got one). It’s not looking good.
