If you're expecting Semenyo to run in behind open defences for us or Haaland do all the running and movement just to set him up like Evanilson you might be disappointed.

Savinho got more assists last season than Semenyo has in any season too.

Semenyo would be being bought for the exact same reasons as Marmoush who we now can't fit in.
 
I respect those that still believe in him but Doku was never this bad. And when Sterling and Jesus declined we got rid of them. I just don’t see him succeeding here. Everything he does is wrong. He loses the ball the other team scores. He’s too far gone. The fans aren’t helping. The environment isn’t suitable for growth. He needs to go.

I don't disagree but I think he definitely deserves a season or two of patience to see what he is at 23/24. Players we think of as incredible players were worse than he is at 21, especially how he performed last season and the season before - I think we can all agree he's not thriving right now and I do think the abuse he's been getting from his own fans online and at games won't help.
 
I get that this lad was given assurances when he signed a new contract. I don’t get why we should give him more game time except in dead rubbers or when we are 4-0 up. If he can’t play his way back to any sort of acceptable standard this way, then let’s loan him out or sell him at the end of the season.

If that’s the case, no way Spurs will come back with anything near the alleged (but dubious) £70m.

Pep did much the same with Eric Garcia.
It is not beneficial to Savinho to be playing him at the moment.
At the samevl time Bobb has been absent from the last 2 squads.

It's weird how Pep won't hesitate to blow out new signings Khusanov/Nico G/Marmoush/Kalvin Phillips/Nunes etc, and they can go considerable time without getting a game, yet Savinho keeps getting picked every week, either starting or coming on despite being poor.

Not saying sign him but he’s a very different player to Marmoush. Much more comfortable out wide, quicker, better touch and much stronger in possession

True. Not saying Bobb was good against Leverkusen but i thought he was the better of the 2 in that first half. In a way i wasn’t particularly against the sub last night in that it was fresh legs and some pace on the break. Problem was apart from that one cross he was abysmal again

The problem is when one player gains a new contract out of the pitch and no deserved game time, specially showing no effort... another teammates like Marmoush, who maybe deserves more minutes, could take that in the bad way. It's not good for the dressing room...

None of Marmoush, Savinho, Cherki or Bobb are getting much game time, at least none of them have nailed down a starting pace.
Our last 3 league games have been a defeat to Newcastle and 2 very close wins against Leeds and Fulham.
Savinho played 13 mins as sub against Newcastle, no time against Leeds and a second half sub last night against Fulham.
He is part of a wider problem .
Peo needs to make his mind up about these 4 in particular.

Savinho played 90 minutes against Leverkusen and he showed lack of defensive intensity in both goals. You can perform bad, but you can't show no effort. That's the problem.

I am aware of that.
All I am saying is that Pep doesn't seem to know which of Savinho, Marmoush, Bobb or Cherki to play.
I thought Savinho played better in the CL matches than the PL games. Not sure why.
It cannot be good for Cherki starting here and there and Marmoush and Bobb hardly appearing at all.
Pep has to be aware of the fans frustation with Savinho
Starting him isn't good for Savinho and certainly not helping the team.

Semenyo tends to create highlights but Marmoush may be a better player.

As to how it relates to this thread Savinho is already a better passer, dribbler and more careful with the ball than Semenyo. Semenyo obviously stronger and a much better finisher. Sav is better at 21 than Semenyo so it's a short term vs long term thing too.

Really if we're looking for an upgrade i think we'd be best served finding a small-spaces type player. Like Guler, Doue or Kvaratskhelia.

I know, I'm really confused about the Marmoush treatment in particular. Savinho seems like a blind spot for him
