Sadly, i have to agree with you.
I think the elections will happen though. I even think in general, the counting will be allowed to take place. But with every single dirty trick imaginable.
But like the last time, he will just not accept the results.
Then the real fun begins.
Who or what mechanism is in place to demand the results stand?
The damage to democracy has already been done. America has already changed, and forever will never be the same.
The country is divided. Basically Red or Blue.
What type of person can look at Trump and think he is the answer? Then make that choice twice.
The outside world sees him for what he is. When will the rest of America?
Weirdly, i used to think Putin was the biggest threat to world security and an absolute scumbag.
Yet America never likes to be outdone, and produced Trump...

Generally a military thing.
Certainly in the US military, most commanders have some form of official carpet or rug in front of their desk, and to be 'on the carpet' means standing to attention in front of the commanding officer and having a one-way conversation, although if I'm reading it correctly it was the Admiral delivering the one-way conversation and not Hegseth.
Exactly the same as what happened in Russia.
They had a path to democracy. Yet the older people chose the old ways at the first bread shortage.
