City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

All they had to say was that they were aware of an incident and they and the police were investigating, and possibly wishing the injured fan well. But they seem determined to try to sweep this under the carpet by claiming no Leeds fans were involved and that the injury wasn't that serious.

I do know that the club have spoken to the injured fan and he said he felt they were trying to sweep the incident under the carpet.

has he said that on X?

I don’t dispute what you say and haven’t read all 48 pages, just wondering why they are adamant, I mean did they have shirts underneath jackets / pin badge / cheer a Leeds attack etc?
Possibly they had Leeds gear on, but the lads who claim to be eye witnesses haven't said as much ..... but one of these Leeds fans is said to have contronted a City fan in 93.20 for earlier trying to get stewards to move him from a city section, and it looks like that was the thing that caused the trouble.

It wasn’t Leeds Utd gear mate. It was the sort of clobber you get away with in Club Wembley. So all your teams colour but no club logo etc. Obviously, it could be a coincidence.

Thanks for the info.

I have read a lot on here but not every page. Is there no mobile phone footage? Its been a good few days now and everything still seems a mystery. People walk around with their phone out, how come no one filmed this.

Hope he recovers well.

The club know they’ve had their strategy and approach criticised and under scrutiny. You would hope that causes them to respond with strong ethics when a situation like this happens. A shame to see that not happen.

Makes you wonder if anyone from the Ticketing team are City, or even football fans…

it seems its a big problem throughout the PL so not just city, spurs for example have a matchday texting number and you simply text and grass, five minutes later the stewards drop by and eject them, good idea if its a dick but i wouldnt bother if it was a couple of normal blokes keeping quite
Great idea and initiative by spurs however, at the Leeds game a steward told my mate that you need proof that they are away fans, if the stewards ask them if they support city and they reply yes there’s nothing they can do apparently, so short of videoing them celebrating should the away team score there’s not a lot can be done.

don't ask them that, just ask them what Niall Quinn's disco pants are

But theres no segregation in the new North stand from City fans as far as I know?

The only games we can give extra away tickets are in cup games (whole 3rd tier where we move cup scheme members elsewhere) .....premier league games there is no chance it's ever going to happen as things stand. Away lot normally get 3 tiers but don't always sell that many so many times 3rd tier is given to us.
Only a few clubs sell out their allocation. The problem is only with a very small group of clubs and an even smaller group of fanbases that always cause trouble ie LFC, Leeds.and MUFC.

Blue on blue or not, everyone should be able to agree that without Leeds fans in 93:20 either by their own volation or by blues aiding them in getting in there would have been no catalyst for events to occur.

Doesn’t stop people fighting each other at Wembley. You can never guarantee anything when people are pissed up or worse.

What they did IS the club way, not an aberration. They're completely shameless.

Of course you're right I've seen it happen at grounds other than Wembley too but, this particular fight seems to stem from, if what's been posted on this forum is correct (I know, I Know) outsiders from another team in the area.
