City fan suffers broken leg after being attacked at Leeds game

Maybe already mentioned but we know there was Leeds fans in the home section, the club is hardly going to incriminate themselves by admitting that,(opening up an even bigger can of worms as to why away fans were in the home end) with the statement they released stating about no Leeds fans involved..Not that I’m defending the club absolutely not but just it’s the old deny everything and hopefully it goes away..

The Club can hope this goes away, but do not think it will.
Average City fans are truly getting pissed off about ticketing and the lack of support or understanding from the club.
Bridges need to be quickly built by the Club...

The problem is, as you said, that everyone knows there were Leeds fans in home areas, particularly hospitality. There's loads of videos and first hand accounts. By trying to sweep this under the rug like they are doing, they look like an ever more inept version of Comical Ali during the Iraq war.

The article in evening news states there 'were also away supporters in hospitality areas such as the Tunnel Club and 93:20 - taking advantage of the club policy that fans of either team are accepted as long as they behave'. So bit late to avoid incriminating themselves about away fans being in there. 93.20 not strictly hospitality but by all accounts neutrals and away fans are a regular occurrence and city don't appear to have asked them to edit the article to distinguish it from tunnel club

They're kidding nobody ...... all the eye witness accounts on here have been adamant that Leeds fans were involved ..... if you're gonna allow visiting fans to mix with home fans at highly charged football matches then you're not gonna get away with having a peaceful gathering forever!
Rival fans have always mixed in corporate areas which are supposed to be neutral. There will always be isolated incidents as happens at race meetings, gigs, in fact everywhere. Perhaps this incident is a rare event in corporate. I have seen some trouble before in corporate but not at our place.

This will inevitably be brushed under the carpet whether anyone likes it or not. If you look at the rags match day revenue which is roughly double ours, they have achieved that by having 99.5% tourists in the ground. I think loyal/legacy fans are a hindrance to the revenue goals.
I accept that if things turn sour there is a possibility that those same tourists will depart but for some reason (lack of caring about success?), it hasn't happened at the swamp.

I saw a picture on a leeds facebook page that popped up for me about this incident and a leeds fan on there posted a picture in the comments with him wearing his leeds shirt in the city end next to a city fan who presumably got him the ticket. Didn't look like a corporate section.

93:20 isn't classed as corporate. It's a Premium general admission area.

Is it not the case that a couple of Leeds fans were given tickets by an accompanying Blue, the stewards then moved them to hospitality? Apologies if I got that wrong but it's difficult to find any actual information in here amongst people who seem happier calling the club and named individuals as cunts.

That is accounted for due to the intelligance and integrity of the type of individuals who go to the swamp in order to worship at the home of the "greatest team in the world", and an example which is not repeated for many other clubs, with the possible exception of the dippers.

Despite being shite for a number of years, the morons continue to visit in their numbers and believe that they are going to see a truly wonderful exhibition of football.

The rag PR team has done a truly remarkable performance of selling low-grade shite to these lemmings.

i get from what he said it was the lack of interest the club have in fans closer to home, which has been reported many a time.
that's how I saw it as well......some see racism anywhere they can find it ....even in their heads

No excuse for that. That''s a total disgrace and the City fan who brought him in should be banned. I have never had problems with away fans in home sections. I have done it myself at away grounds scores of times. But those who show no respect and take the piss deserve everything they get. Parading in a Leeds shirt is just inciting violence. In fact it should be a criminal offence because it as bad as so-called "hate-chanting."

Yes the club should prioritise local residents (whatever their nationality). I don't think it is racist to do that. The demographic of Manchester is diverse and City have had a diverse support since the 1970s. But ignoring local working class fans in favour of well-heeled corporate customers is a mistake. Of course the club needs investment and revenues to grow like any other business....but not at the expense of loyal long-term supporters. City still do more community investment in this country than any other club, possibly in world football with CFG, but we seem to be shit at communicating to our customers.
