Atmosphere Thread | 2025/26

They don't seem to be which is going to ruin the last chance of a decent atmosphere in the Etihad for all but the biggest games.

If you could sit elsewhere and watch 500 people singing "We never win at home" in one stand, 700 singing "Empty Seats at home" in another whilst 1000 try to get "Ederson and Ake" going above them, all at eccatly the same time, you'd see the problem we have. The rest of the stadium won't join in with that.
If you remember the club started the singing section areas and along with supporters groups encouraged people to go as singers …. Sadly plenty went but never bothered actually … singing . We are a strange set of fans who balloon away but don’t at home unless it’s a big game …. As I said coaches and trains of lads going away on the lash and that natural away mentality is going to be a step to replicate at the blue empty seats at home stadium …. I can see the north stand just a tourist hell …. Sos boss

When they built SS3 it was supposed to be a new atmosphere end with cheap season tickets and a window where we could all move from other parts of the ground. It peaked at the first game against Chelsea and went down hill steadily just like the rest of the ground apart from the odd rag, Madrid or Scouse dressing down.

8 of us moved expectantly and now there’s only 2 left up there because it fell flat on its arse. That should’ve been the place to be for atmosphere and to be fair to the club at the time, they kept their end of the bargain with cheap tickets but this obviously came with a shit view so the singers in SS1 stayed put and were happy to pay more to do so.

Fast forward 10 years and the chances of any blue wall happening in the north stand with the change in the club’s attitude towards “legacy fans” and all the GA+ bollocks means you can forget cheap season tickets being offered this time around to get singers to move up there because even if they did then history tells us it wouldn’t happen anyway.

The only option now is if the club entice a load of blues they have lost over the last few years to come back and fill these new seats with cheap tickets and free beer. Once the rest of the ground who have largely become entitled moaners or zombies glued to their phones see this lot having a brilliant time then they will hopefully wake up and join in so we can build from there.

Will it happen, of course not but it might in a couple of years time when the club are forced to accept it’s the only way they are ever going to fill it to give their corporate lifeblood a “matchday experience”.

Time will tell.

We shall wait and see.............

Getting that away day involvement replicated at home will be nigh on impossible though as its so many supporters clubs etc together in one place at aways. Not NEW fans generally.

We have already got 111, 110 and SS and how will you get all them moving? I for one want to stay near away fans as it gives you more incentive for rivalry right next to them.

Where are you lot now? Why not join in with us?
This is the issue: it's about creating an atmosphere for the stadium, not sticking the finger up at the away fans.

This is why we say the set-up of the stadium is wrong; we need a vocal home end.

You can see from the Champions League Final and Cup finals that having all our vocal support helps in one area helps the atmosphere

Where do you sit/stand?

You have a nerve telling match attending supporters who fork out thousands for season tickets where they should sit or stand.

We will go where we want thanks.

Banter with away fans is something that happens with blues since time began ....

Some of our recent wembley appearances have been terrible too for atmosphere. You cannot compare a champions league final to home games.

Will you be moving your season ticket to the new seats in the North Stand for example? What do you do to increase the match day atmosphere?

Calm down mate. Hes not telling you where to sit. He’s suggesting that the club try and promote the new stand as a vocal stand. It is (obviously) up to you where you sit.

He can speak for himself boss. Calm as fuck me but I'm not having where I sit or what I do dictated to by divs who don't even go.

Giving match attending fans a bollocking for sticking the fingers up at away fans and that banter and atmosphere that in turn creates compared to without it. I dont give a shit what it looks like on telly.

I wish you lot luck who are promoting this new North stand as a singing section or new END and I assume the club will engage with you all however don't expect us all to jump on board. If you all move to the new area .....hope it works.

So many previous different initiatives have been tried and failed. It's difficult to see how things will be any different going forward. More and more non singing tourists...that's it.

It’s clear Sunderland will be tough opposition on Saturday. I expect their fans to be loud and I’m hoping we will prove to be our 12th man.

Against Leeds, we woke up when the game was in the balance and helped the lads over the line. Lots of good support throughout at Fulham, too.

I’m hoping there will be more fan involvement to help rescue the expanded North Stand, as a decent end for atmosphere.

We need two decent ends and so understand fans not wanting to move.
Nobody can argue the contribution you make to this club and fans who attend games pal

We need thousands more like you

Let’s get something decent going on Saturday. I’m sick of the boring atmospheres.

Another Saturday 3pm, everyone get up early and get themselves in the pub for a few hours to get the juices flowing and let’s get singing from the off!

No one can hear them in other parts of the ground. If they want to improve the atmosphere then they should move to the North Stand which will have much better acoustics.
