Whilst going unbeaten is great would i swap that for

Biggest pl winning margin
Most pl points in a season
Most wins in a season
Most pl goals in a season
Best pl goal difference in a season
Most pl titles in a row
Most pl away wins in a season
Most wins in a row across all competitions in a season.

Yes it would be great to go unbeaten all season, would i swap it for any of the above ? No.
I'd swap both "most pl away wins in a season" and/or "best pl goal difference in a season" for the unbeaten accolade, they're nice but both fairly meaningless. None of the others though.

The Invincible tag only begins to be meaningful in any way if its across the entire season, in every competition entered and it's in addition to an unprecedented points haul.

Can you imagine the flak City would get if we only drew against a rival who was reduced to 10 players for an hour? Imagine the flak if we had 6 players booked! And, do you think VAR would have intervened at all if that had been Caicedo on Gonzales?

Keep kidding yourselves that it was a great point against the Chavs. The rest of us can live in hope that a wobble's coming. There's still a very long way to go, so let's see where we are when you come to the Etihad in early April.
TBF the score would probably have been 6-6, with City having been 5 goals ahead and then the defence deciding to play like they are on a crack comedown.

Yep. As a club we've realised that when we do things on the pitch the media throw up their arms and foam at the mouth, which is then swiftly followed by the footballing authorities changing rules, outlawing it and removing it from the game.

So far it's all going to plan. No more 13mins of injury time for your lot now! ;)

Next up we're going to block keepers and defenders at corners until that's banned too.

We're knocking off your shitty tactics one by one. Be afraid, because in no time at all you'll only have open play from which to score your goals! ;)

Good plan. I think we've maybe got wind of that, and that's why we've not scored a set piece in our last 4 league games and our last 9 league goals have been from open play. ;)

Listen, we're just never going to be as free flowing and as attack minded as a Pep team. He's the best manager ever, so it would be daft to try and out-Pep, Pep. We've found out own style, it's a bit more solid, a bit more structured, but still capable of playing good football at times, still capable of scoring lots of goals, and still capable of winning games. We'll need to see if it's enough to win the big prizes.

Charming. Again, my point wasn't about doing it, my point was that as with all clubs and fans there's a bit of double standards when your own club does it, that's all.
I’m only giving the charm you deserve. Fuck off to an arse forum. The fact you’re commenting on time wasting is equal parts fucking hilarious and sad.

May I ask what you thought about 70s-80s Liverpool, 80s Everton, all of English European Cup winners before the ban (ie Villa/Forrest too). It seemed Everton went toe to toe with Liverpool for a few years in the 80s and probably would of won the European Cup in 1986 after picking up the Cup Winners Cup in '85. I know Liverpool fans put a 'Steaua Bucharest' banner up during the derby that year, implying Everton would have won that year to wind them up.

I'm only old enough to remember Daglish's 80s Liverpool. And I can hold my hands up and say that Liverpool side were a much better footballing side than the Arsenal of that time, even if we pipped them in 89 (technically same goal difference).

Same question for @TonyColemansbagofapples and anyone old enough to remember.

From what I can get from watching youtube and reading, Liverpool were big on 1 touch passing and movement, their pressing was intense, they obviously had top players. Daglish gets all the plaudits. Souness seemed to combine high levels of playmaking and technical skill alongside brutality. Every man seemed to technically play their role

When it comes to Forrest, I know the story, but I didn't witness it. With Villa I know pretty much know nothing.
The Everton side were very, very good and were ruined by the ban. What they could have achieved is difficult to quantify.
The Liverpool side is similar to what they have always been in my lifetime. Quick tempo but impossible to get a fair shake from the officials. Dalglish got away with murder with that fat arse of his. Very good player but very protected and, in my opinion, not as good as Keegan.

Naughty Thursday evening question.
Who had the fattest arse Dalglish or Mark Hughes?

12 years I've been here, been able to have conversation, discussions and debates with lots of different posters. It's sad when it just resorts to 'fuck off to and Arse forum'.

Two trebles better than being unbeaten in the league as well.

All well and good but I don't want to see Phil falling like he's he's been shot ala Saka.
Nah, not Phil, I'm with you on that.

But I don't mind so much if maybe Bernie does a little bit of it, he's pretty much leaving at the end of the season, plenty in the bank with his "treble hero" status, not really much chance of tarnishing his legacy. Would be a nice parting gift to us, he's got "sneaky little bastard" in him too. Winner!

If you’re going to come on here, as a supporter of the worlds biggest bottlejobs, asking about a tactic you’ve gotten away with for years (while helping you win sweet fuck all), expect a little vitriol in return.

Yeah, I keep my powder dry-ish too. We'll see when we see.
Personally, I'm quietly confident, but who knows. Nobody really knows for sure if you'll bottle it this year.

Yeah, that sounds good form. I look at stuff like previous 5 game form, stuff like that. How's your last 5 game form? I don't pay much attention to other teams so early in the league, you drop many points?

We're on a bit of a fluky run over the last 5 or so, or "stuff of champions" in the alternate universe where blue and red get the opposite press :)

Anyway, Rice is a great player IMO and I don't mind your overall "style" in a basic sort of "revolutionizing football" sense. You've American rugby-ed football, noice!
Yardage by set plays.
Special teams with little special routines.
But is there the need for so much bullshit?

It's every form of shithousery on every part of the pitch and using every law in the book.

Aren't you all asking yourselves if it's really worth being so fucking embarrassing just to win a title?

Seriously question, not trying to be offensive in any way.

On a serious note, why? I would never go on another teams forum, let alone comment on it, so a serious question, why do you want to read another clubs forum? Very weird and strange behaviour in my opinion

Was miles onside. Tough game, Raya made a brilliant save at 1-0 - if that goes in totally different match.

Checked the betting odds - we are odds-on to win at Villa on Saturday. No idea how that's possible, surely with their recent form and how good they are at home Villa would be favourites (or at least the draw?)

Only 24 games to go…… if you dip for the line early we’ll be there ;)

I was at a football academy in the 90s and they coached us as a forward to back into the opposition with your arse and then try to turn them as you push them back abit. They told us it was all legal.

Phil Thompson reckoned Daglish was a better team player than Keegan, ie doing the dirty work and linking up with players.

I don't remember if I mentioned this in the thread but Liverpool fans in 1986 had a banner with Steau Bucharists name on it. Essentially trolling Everton fans, insinuating, you would of won it but we got you banned.

It's a forgotten time as Sky will never talk about it. Any highlights nowadays are the PL years.

I grew up when Liverpool were at their height and they were very, very good. However, what we never had was the live games, so we only got fed motd highlights, what you saw on match days and newspaper coverage.

The unfortunate thing now with the heightened coverage is that journalists have to get clicks and follows and that has led to the outrageous levels of hyperbole. So everything now is the best ever.....don't get me started on that awful Americanism 'GOAT'. Fucking awful.

When did football on TV come in then? One of my earliest football TV memories was Arsenal winning the league in 1989. And getting top level football for free was great. Then it went to Sky and my parents wouldn't buy it so I had to move onto Football Italia on Channel 4 and settle for MOTD.

That banner and Bucharest chants are staple at the Merseyside derby.
