Seat Counters 25/26

Well over a 1,000 tickets still on general sale for a 3pm Saturday game tomorrow...2nd in the league, scored 8 goals in the last week. I wonder what the plan is for next year...how the hell will they fill the bigger ground.

The match was sold out months ago. These are return tickets which always become available two weeks before every game as people find they are unable to make the fixture. This is what happens for every home league match and I am surprised you don't know that. You are not fooling anyone on here.

People putting them on the exchange as they want Xmas cash.

That is the case with over 20 in my block.

SSL3 need to put them on to not face a sanction if missing 60-80 been put with very little chance of selling, but 4 strikes and you are out if you don't list.

General sale? So you don't need a membership? But if you want to transfer to a friend they need a membership?

So are you saying we haven’t got more than 53,000 match going fans to buy any surplus and available tickets?

So the match was sold out, and ‘1000 City fans’ returned their tickets.

1000!

I don’t think so.

Fucking hell, if we can’t sell an extra 1000 tickets from a previously sold out match(?), with a stadium capacity of 53,000, how are we going to sell out an extra 8000 tickets with a stadium capacity of 62,000? (rounding up the numbers)

How many sold out, unsold tickets, are going to remain unsold when the new North stand is open?

The majority have come on in the last couple of days, and lots have resold.

The club isn't disadvantaged but a few fans who can't resell not attending, but the amount who relist in SSL3 is a warning about selling STs too cheaply.

I'm sure the ground will be full tomorrow. If we can't fill the extra seats next season then the club will reduce prices. It is normal for people to duck out of pre-Christmas matches. West Ham will be the same. Most of those returns will be season ticket holders, perhaps some are corporates. Not worth fretting about either way.

So, let’s go with the match has sold out.

So where have 1000 tickets, yes 1000 tickets, come from?

Personally I can’t ever see 1000 City fans listing their tickets on the ticket exchange before a match? No chance!

So are some of those 1000 tickets returns form the 9 official ticket touting websites?

If they are, those ticket never sold, and were returned to the club, if the rumour of how that happens is correct?

Going back to my other question?

Haven’t we got 1000 fans who will buy those tickets?

If not, and after nearly 15 years of continual success, 2nd in the PL, fighting for the title, Pep, Haaland, etc, that is very poor and worrying.

I can’t see the club reducing the ticket prices again. Not after the big reduction in ticket prices after last seasons protests.

Not fretting, just discussing.

Not sure if you're being deliberately stupid. If 1,000 returned tickets can't get snapped up in a 53000 seater for a 3pm Saturday game when we're second, what happens in a 61,000 seater on a Wednesday night if we were fifth?. No I'm not trying to fool anyone on here, but happy to explain and clarify if you're struggling.

I bought 2 today, I'm not blaming anyone else though, it is all about timing.

I don't think there's any correlation between the price of the ST and the amount someone relists.

First of all only about 5.3% of SS3 is currently on sale, compared with about 4.2% of the whole ground, which isn't significantly more.

And the reason that there's a slightly higher proportion of seats on sale in SS3, is that it's the most unattractive area of the ground to sit, so naturally sells slower. We see this in every cup game, it's always the last area to sell out.

I certainly don't think this should be seen as a WARNING to the club to not sell cheap ST's

You have never, ever, ever got this. Ever.

There are many more than 1000 season tickets returned for most matches. Sometimes it is more like 5000. These tickets used to just get unused. Figures were released a few years ago about exactly how many and it was sometimes up to 10,000 a match.

I agree with you, although a couple of years ago they'd have been snapped up, whereas I think it's unlikely that most of the tickets currently on sale will sell.

Just adds to the overall point that demand for tickets, simply isn't as high as it once was

Closer to 7% on sale with only 4 full blocks and less than a third of 314 which has 500 away fans and then segregation, then 9 seats wide for city fans. You have assumed 5000 home fans when it is close to 4,300.

I think the current economic state of the country is a major factor not just ticketing policy and pricing. Everyone seems gloomy at the moment.

for this game the available seats are actually dotted about in ones and twos rather than the big blocks we have seen before, suggesting it is individual fans returning them, not the official tout companies. One of our 4 can’t go tomorrow so we listed it, first time ever it’s not sold.
