3 | Ruben Dias - 2025/26

Surprised there are no comments in this thread, given an all-round excellent performance and an absolute worldy for the opener

Yes he did give the ball away terribly for that 1-on-1 chance, but his actual defending (positioning, anticipation, aggression, organization) was exemplary today
He played well, but that mistake at that point was a howler. I don’t think he was helped by Foden passing to him - should have gone straight to Donnarumma- nor by the fact that Haaland rather ambled up to his position, meaning the long ball wasn’t an option.

What a goal. I don't like when he becomes an auxiliary playmaker but he did well enough. Good defending but an awful, awful howler that luckily didn't get punished. Much better than at Fulham

One thing stood out for me with him tonight, when they broke, O'Reilly was in danger of being in a 2v1 defensively with Dias trying to get himself back into thr mix, he was pointing to O'Reilly telling him to pre-empt the pass and shift over slightly. He did so. They played the ball, (admittedly really poorly) and he cut it out easily. Showed great leadership and guiding an inexperienced player through the game.
